Gold Planaren are insane. they aren’t a known name…they came out with mediocre to sucky products and now they think people are going to give them $1600 for something they say is TOTL?

Fiio utws3 out on 18/12/2020

price is ¥498 in China (about 63€ or 76$)

They don’t seem to have swappable adapters like the cheaper trn bt20s pro so they better have lower hiss or higher poweroutput/battery life or app support as a selling point.

it’s what a lot have been asking for, so there’s gonna be some happy people I think.

Hopefully there’s been a significant upgrade in sound since jot 1

Complementary to the Playmate 2 release.

E-mail Burson about the Bang speaker amp told me they should have a replacement for it next year. Considering they updated the Playmate, guess we should expect a “version 2” of all the lineup next year (Fun, Bang and Swing).

Would definitely be interested in seeing some impressions… wasn’t a big fan of the jot 1

how come? what was wrong with it?

quite neutral which really isn’t my thing, not as good on the spatial imo by a good margin, good detail but a bit more sparkly to my ear in comparison with less on the warmth compared to asgard. It just, didn’t sit right with me. Plus the fact it’s literally the same price as my Liquid Plat? There was no competition on which one was going to win there for me honestly. Granted, Jot 2 sounds interesting so I will keep an eye on it see what people think

I wonder how this compares to the fh5…seems like a successor/similar price range.

I am far more interested in single DD comparisons like EX800st/Ex1000 etc. If they can stage like Sony and not eff up the FR then its going to end up being legendary level good. Keep your eyes peeled…

Topping D70S has dropped… Not too much seems different from the D70 from a “features” or look perspective beyond adding MQA, updating the processor and moving the logo to a partial chamfered edge. Oh, and raising the price (D70 is $470 right now for the bluetooth version).
