I will say it got me curious, despite my past experience with hybrid amps. I do, however, have other priorities. I will also probably save for a more expensive one, so it will be a pass for the time being.

it’s really annoying that they call it a balanced DAC when it’s actually a combo DAC / Amp.
It’s not that I dislike Mytek, but they are expensive for what you get. I think both Mytek and Grado could price their products a little more competitively if they didn’t have to pay Brooklyn rent/salary. I’m not the biggest THX guy, but I’ll be curious to see how this competes with the Benchmark HPA4
I can dig the aesthetics, especially if this giant red wheel is a smooth digital knob. But really, dual AKM DACs? With the whole fire situation, will this even launch, or will it be like a “paper launch”?
They also said it was I’m final testing back in October. Hopefully they mean it this time.

Maybe. I just don’t want to buy something like the xd-05+ and then have the balanced come out the next week (which is basically what happened with the original and the +).
Not sure if someone posted it already but while browsing a webstore from my country i spotted the 2 new Hifiman headphones in preorder.
R10P is the flagship Planar and it seems to cost 5590€ in preorder.
R10D is (you guessed it probably) the Dynamic driver version, it’s priced at 1399€ in preorder.
2 things i noticed right off the bat is the weird looking cups shape and the picture with the bluetooth bluemini thing from their Deva, indicating that it could work with them ?
Anyways curious to hear about the first feedbacks coming soon i guess.
Edit : Forgot to say they’re indicating around February 4th for the release.
Edit² : Found the official page, i replaced the weird pdf links lol. Interesting to note is that they offer a Bluemini 2 with every preorder. So perhaps it might not work with the Deva version ?

I’m guessing the inventory of AK4493 chips is much better than say the 4499’s or even the 4497’s. It will be interesting to see how the whole factory fire situation impacts new product launches this year. I guess if you don’t like ESS chips you may have to be happy with what you already have. Lol.
