signed up to win a pair… not providing link as I don’t need more competition
Just saw the Ifi iPower Elite
This would rock if it was priced in the $250 range.
Betting it’s gonna be identical to the Focal Radiance, but with no Bentley logo.
I am interested in the interview that “The Headphone Show” will make with the Focal PM Megane Montabonel. Last time, despite some internet problems, she offered A LOT of info, so if you like the tech behind that’s definitively a great opportunity.
I wonder what they did to massage that output ripple number to be 500x better than the output ripple of the R&S NGL200 ← big and expensive lab power supply
Don’t know if there’s active noise cancelling on the pro units, since they’re supposed to just provide clean power, maybe it’s just what’s the definition of “noise”. I’m happy with bench grade linear power supplies. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Lost that bet as per Resolve’s latest teaser, but hopefully you’ll win the bet of getting the giveaway headphone itself.
You can pre-order the xduoo xd-05 balanced now here
and on HifiGo.
Successor to the Elegia?
I find it interesting there is no mention (in the very limited marketing info) of what DAC chip(s) is being used in the new XD-05 Plus Bal. AK4493 same as the single ended Plus?
On the HifiGo page there is no technical info at all and I somehow have the impression that shenzenaudio and HifiGo published this a bit too early prior to the official release.
There is also no hint of this one on the official xduoo site shop up to now. I assume they didn‘t get the marketing material yet and just went ahead to get all the early adopter orders from the xd-05 fans (I might be among them)…
Would be awesome if it would be “pretty much the Elegia but much cheaper” since I will be in the market for a nice pair of closed backs when the offices open up again.
spot on.
I got a Plus during the 11.11 sale and did a Burson op amp upgrade. I’m turning into an xDuoo fanboy . Pantera’s praise of the Plus is well deserved imho.
That said I’ll probably just read with envy all the praise the new Plus Balanced will undoubtedly receive.
Cheaper? Would be awesome, but doubtful. Seems that every new product introduction raises the bar on price. I’m with you though!
I hope it is about the same $1000 that the elegia used to be since those have been discontinued. If focal keeps raising the price while discontinuing the older/cheaper models they will end up only selling $30000 headphones to about 30 people.
$430 for a balanced Xduoo XD05 bal… is it just me that find that a bit much?
I have the normal plus, so no need to upgrade (also with the Burson upamp) and as I use it OTG, balanced seems unnecessary.
But that red/grey color scheme…
Just by the look of it i can tell the new Celestee won’t be cheaper than the Elegia, i would be very surprised if it is. I bet it’s somewhere between Clear and Stellia. Just the pads alone looks more expensive than those of Utopia lol.
In my country Elegia has dropped price quite a bit in the last few months, can be found for 500€ which makes them a pretty nice pick for closedback right now.
Now i’m wondering if Focal is going to add a profile in the Focal Arche for the newcomer
I don’t know if the page lacks informations but it looks like it has built-in bluetooth ? If that’s the case then i can see why it cost more.
