Celeste is a female name and in English it’s silent.
do you have anything you can reference that it is pronounced in French?

heh…the French. LoL!
Congrats to Jacob de something… if you’re a hifiguider please chime in and post some pics/thought after you get them.
Regarding the pronunciation, to my ears Mégane was pronouncing it like I suspected she would, si-les-tee. But I hit on a trick a few years back that I’ve come to rely on for pronunciation of foreign words. Type it into Google Translate with the appropriate language selected, then click on the speaker icon.
Regarding the tuning, Resolve said the Celestee is very Harman-like. So of course now 90% of the forum will feel obligated to agree and hate on the headphone, or disagree so they can admit to liking it, grin.
Resolve replied on my YouTube comment and said these seal much better than the Elegia. I couldn’t get the Elegia to seal properly on my head so it sounded terrible.
These might just be back on the menu in the future for me. I really like the look. For me they are the best looking Focals.
I think he said in his video review that the Celestee has more clamp force which should help with sealing.
I really like the look aswell.
I owned the Elegia and while I found them to be excellent headphones, as a glasses-wearer they just didn’t ever really seal right and the bass was hit or miss and had to be adjusted. There were also songs where the mid-rage felt… “tinny” for lack of a better word.
It sounds like the “seal” issues may have been addressed with the Celestee? Also they look gorgeous.
All the headphone.com guys wear glasses which is something i noticed. I dont know if for reviews if they take them off but it seems like no
I think Chrono don’t use glasses. But anyway, Resolve has talked about seal break in the Elegia and other headphones multiple times, so my guess is at least he evaluates that.
Anyway, don’t know if I will put more of my money on Focal after the fiasco of their customer service. But damn this Celestee is a beauty.
Edit: Let’s at least talk a little about the new headphone.
Someone on reddit posted this teaser from Focal about what is supposedly the new Clear headphones

My guess is the production-ready logo plate means this isn’t just a one-off concept prototype – not to mention the amount of R&D to develop an all-magnesium variant of their driver. I’d also be surprised if this weren’t just one of a Clear Mg / Clear Mg Pro pair.
So does this replace the current Clear, like the Celestee replaced the Elegia? Or is it a new SKU priced above the current Clear? (I’m assuming they’re going to hype mg-only as producing a better sound than mg+al, or why bother.) It would make sense to define their price tiers more sharply by entry tier = mg+al, middle tier = mg only, summit tier = beryllium. So, of course, the mg tier would be pricier than the current Clear. Plus, a new mg closed back is then needed to complete the 2 x 3 pattern.
This would also result in a decision point for Focal re the Elex. If they can terminate their contract with Drop, they can introduce a slightly improved mg+al open back pairing to the Celestee. Perhaps with something closer to the Celestee’s Harman-like bass boost to more clearly dissociate it from the current mg+al Clear.
Interesting take. I love my Elex’s so much that I can’t help but be curious about the Clears, especially the Pro’s.
only difference between the original Clear and Clear Pro was color scheme…and a higher price for the Pro.
is there a bigger difference this round?
The pro is actually $200.00 cheaper and Much better looking, IMO.
The cables are different, but I don’t care as I am a HAC guy now.
wasn’t always that way. must be clearing out old inventory for the new…
For pretty much all of 2020, the Clears have been $1,999.00 and the Pro’s have been $1,799.00, in Canada.
The Celestee has caught my eye. I feel either that or a zmf closed back is in my future
That’s very interesting…being the Pro’s have a better color scheme.
Plus they have additional pads which is for me much better value than cable. And same here Pro model was cheaper than regular clear
