how / when did they do that?
interesting. how would Drop get Audeze products if they didn’t come from Audeze or one of their partners
A white van.
did they come with free candy?
An old gummy worm.
if Drop’s account is more truthful than Audeze’s, yikes. But then again, Drop has pretty bad record on things.
In any case, excited to see what the new cans will be!
ooooh boy. So Drop and Senheiser are banking on a warmer, possibly better one. Very exciting.
And I will be passing on that one.
- 3000 units are available for 2021. Launch price: 1100$
- 2022 price: 1200+
I’m not sure that I’d personally want more bass on the 800s that I own, but that could be just me or my dac/amp synergy sounding good to me. I personally like the midrange, so curious to hear what the improvements will be. I’d maybe be more tempted if I didn’t already own the 800s, but very curious to see the response to it
edit-I won’t be one of the first 3000 preorders waiting until November or later
I wish they gave more days to make a decision. I always wanted to try the hd800s. I know this will be a different sounding. Decision…
Hmmmm…a modified version could be sketchy. Senn DID make a HD700 and HD820 which aren’t exactly setting the world on fire.
Price is too high for me to initially get in, but if the relationship continues I could see me getting it if it maintains the sound stage and ends up being the superior version minus the modded og.
lol yep, but also 3.5mm TRS and 2.5mm TRS exists… smaller than all of that.
Took Burson almost a week to answer, but they confirmed that each differential (dual) opamp is for the separate sections: one for headphones, one for the speakers. Makes me wanna tinker with.
Also, on the 8XX, I always heard the 800s was considered cold, so this drop improvement can be beneficial. But what I truly wanted is them to change that damn connector, which I don’t think it’ll happen.
First 8XXs will ship in November…
I liked one of the comments on the page: “I don’t even know if I’ll be alive by then”. With Covid-19 this could even be true for some people. Seriously, I think if Drop would start announcing the things they sold one month in advance, instead of one year in advance, they’d have 100 times more fans and 100 times more sales.
Until then, enjoy the Drop store on Amazon.
I’d wager its a good product.
But I am not slapping down 1K to get an unknown product in, probably, maybe, November?
I mean, they probabaly need the money up front to even start production
I guessed the name, they should at least give me a 10% discount. Not too difficult a guess I guess.
