That would be pretty neat, I’m too lazy to do that lol
Glad you’re enjoying this amazing little amp! It really does perform some sonic sorcery that’s hard for me to articulate.
It also shows that balanced output isn’t really necessary for high level performance. It still amazes me that it’s relatively unspoken of in the headphone world. Hopefully with the Fidelice launch more people will get to try out Neve’s designs.
IMO… people should jump on this amp before they decide to stop selling it. Given the price difference with the Fidelice versions.
I am coveting that Dac/Amp though…
Same! I had two and returned one (was just inside of return window) after the Fidelice announcement. I’m kind of regretting that now. I may just order another one, or “go big” and try out the Phonitor XE!
The Fidelice RNDAC though… but, $5k is too much for me. Still it’s a compelling proposition for someone with the means.
It’s because people think thx is supreme and it’s not worth it lol
Also linking this here because it’s funny lol
it looks like its balanced. and is it true it cant push argons? i think this was made before the whole THX thing. his new stuff is expensive
20 character minimum
It’s single ended (1/4”) but has XLR inputs, along with RCA, and. 3.5mm.
I think it can but there are better amps for the argons imo
IMO… It’s enough of an improvement… I’d take the power loss over the THX amps… Though I don’t have anything crazy hard to drive.
im starting to have 2nd thoughts about my sp200. and this amp is 500$ maybe cheaper used
They hold their value pretty well when I last checked
I’ll be honest… I’m officially done with the THX amps at this point. I do think they are a good value proposition given their power output and all… but this has really opened things up for me.
Figuratively or literally lol
20 character mi…
I think literally… I think I’d like to pick up the MK2 Mini at some point for the power house option. And I’m going to sell off the 887 and return the SP200.
Well I wasn’t expecting that so quickly lol
I wasn’t either… I was not expecting to be ‘sold’ so quickly. I thought it was going to be hooking up both the SP200 and RNHP to the D70 at the same time and spending time going back and forth… throwing a blanket over them to blind test myself… and finally deciding if the improvement was worth it…
That was not how it happened… it was immediate… obvious and apparent.
I’ve been posting about the RNHP since I received the first one. It blew me away with how good it sounded, and I don’t even have it connected to a proper dac (Bluesound Node 2i-TI chip) [yet].
I’m glad people are coming around. And I think Mon is onto something. The Neve Designs RNHP is less than half the cost of the rebranded Fidelice. They may not want to give people a lower cost option.
But, it is in their pro line so my hope is that they’ll keep it round.
