I think it shows db when itās in pre-amp mode. if you hold down the power button when turning it on itāll toggle back and forth between DAC and Pre.
Yeah I did, but the top still really does not want to come off
I had to shimmy it forward and it helps if the two switches are in the down position but it should not be fastened anywhere else
edit: shoot my bad there is a nut and a washer on the volume pot you need to remove as well

The side with the switches and knob will not move for shit. The other side has separation but this side just will not fucking budge

Alright well I did get it open, but I donāt think I can fix it myself unfortunately. It is encased in some metal that I canāt get into so I think it is bent on the interior and exteriorā¦ Guess I just wait for schiit to hopefully reply to my email tomorrow. I was having lots of fun using this thing for the 8 hours I had it lol. Guess I wait now

Yeah all the switches are soldered on so once I opened it up I realized there is basically no way I can fix it myself. Oh well, I tried. Guess I will go back to using my Magni 3 until this is resolved.

I think thereās a pretty good chance of me picking up an Asgard 3 very soon. Curious to compare to other amps I have already. Iād leave the DAC cars out for the extra money. I have a few DACs here to feed it with.

Mmk so update on my broken on/off switch. Sent an e-mail to [email protected] because that was the e-mail posted on the Warranty paper that I got with the Asgard 3ā¦ After like 2 days I thought maybe this is the wrong e-mail, because I canāt find that literally anywhere on the website. So I submit a āReturns and RAā form on their website.
I got a response back within that same hour lol. They are shipping me a new one once they get a tracker that Iāve shipped this one back to them. Iām very glad that the return process is pretty hassle free, but that also might just be because it malfunctioned within 24 hours of me getting it.
Excited to get it back though, it was hard to go back to the Magni after using the Asgard for just a couple hours.

which magni do you have? major sound quality improvement from it to the asgard?
Originally Magni 3. The Asgard just has way more power and basically breathes more life into both my HD600 and especially my Nighthawk Carbons. For the short time I used it, I really liked it and I would say is definitely worth the $100 upgrade if you like a little bit of warmth added to your AMP.
Also just a random aside, but when I fool with my Magni volume knob with headphones on/plugged in I get like static noise until I stop messing with itā¦ and this didnāt happen with my Asgard.

I have the magni 3+ and I notice a huge difference between it and the Asgard 3ā¦ Nighthawks rock on Asgard 3

The magni amps use a mediocre pot, the Asgard 3 has a nicer pot, you can try cleaning the pot on the magni if you want to reduce that
