Is the difference bigger between DACās in your experience?
So typically I find that if you have a decent onboard dac from your phone or motherboard or something, the amp makes the more sizable difference. A better dac will help, but typically itās a smaller upgrade
Ah oki, thanx MON
I think on the higher end, sometimes dacs can make more of a difference than amps (but Iām talking above 1k for each component or higher typically here)
Do you think I will hear an improvement with the D10 compared to the dac in the dac x6?
I personally do, if it fits in your budget. A better dac can boost the overall quality, so I do think it is worthwhile at some point. It can provide a better signal for the amp to take advantage of
Thanx MON, appreciate
Ill be posting the fazor most likely tonight
For sure amps make the biggest difference I think as long as you have a servicable dac like a SMSL U8 or a geshelli labs enog youāre good for general use
For me, itās dac. I upgrade my SDAC to smsl m500. The difference is very noticeable. But I agree with what MON just said
Btw, I just receive the zmf universe pads - suede perforated. I compared it with my brainwavz angle sheepskin pads, I would say the comfort on zmf pads is slightly better. The soundstage on zmf pads reminds me of dt1990p. While it loses a little bit clarity and sounds less exciting compared to it with brainwavz pads. The aiva with brainwavz pads also has good soundstage, but it feels like 2d.
Overall,
comfort: zmf universe seude pads >= brainwavz angle sheepskin pads > stock pads
soundstage: zmf universe seude pads (3D) > brainwavz angle sheepskin pads (2D) > stock pads
clarity : stock pads >= brainwavz angle sheepskin pads (2D) > zmf universe seude pads (3D)
The sound signature on brainwavz pads is very similar to it with stock pads. I think the zmf pads changes the sound signature a little bit. It doesnāt feel like v-shape.
I want a pad that turns down the treble a little and nothing else. i love the close soundstage of these. is there a pad like that?
Idk which pads are capable of doing that. But you can try to put foams on the drivers.
Hereās the post about it:

Wow that guy went all out balls to the wall lol. My next move will be black Heart Audio cables and then the FMZ universe perforated āsuadeā pads.
Finally got around to pad roll and try the universe suede pads on the Aivas. I like what it adds. I agree with Hazi that it adds more bass. That was the first thing I noticed and probably the biggest change. Soundstage is a little more subtle but it is definitely larger.
What I donāt like with the Aiva types are the non perforated sheepskin. Iām not a fan of using those pads.
I want to upgrade my dac now, upgraded my amp from the Fx audio to the liquid spark, but still using the fx audio as the dac. Want to upgrade to the d10 or liquid dpark dac. Think I will hear an improvemt as the dac is the d10 is suppose to be way better than the fx audio dac.
How does the Aiva sound on the Liquid Spark amp? does the wamrth cancel out some of the treble?
Honestly its hard so say as my previous amp was also rolled off according to reviews. So I dont actually know what the highs sound like on other amps. But the LS is awesome. First I had a hard time picking apart the difference between amps. Then it hit me. The LS just sounds better. No idea how to describe what exactly sounds better it just does. It sounds more refined. It just sounds like a better amp. But then again I feel the internal dac in the fx audio is holding back the synergy between the LS and Aiva. So month end I will upgrade to the D10 dac. But overall Im very happy
To get back to the trebble, I dont think it rolls of so much because they are still detailed AF but never siblent. Like ever.
If you got the monoprice dac your LP stack would look so cool. Check this out:
Their both the same size and color, my image editing skills arent that great lol.
That looks awesome, but will it be any good. I know the AKM4490/93 is a very good chip. But if the implementation is bad it wont sound good. But yea the LS stack is very very apealing
