šŸ”¶ Sendy Aiva

Well I mean they are also using a product render for the spark dac, so itā€™s more that they donā€™t have it fully down rather than your image editing lol (I donā€™t know if the proportions are correct on the render for the dac)

Mon would you say the $100 differnece from the SU8 is worth it over the D10. Is the SU8 that much better in sound or do I pay more for the features

You are more paying for more features and balanced, so in this case I donā€™t think itā€™s worth it at the moment imo

So in pure sound quality from that point of view are they close or still rather far apart

I would say the su8 is an improvement, but to notice that substantial of an improvement I think you would really want to run it balanced which you canā€™t do with your amp. I think the d10 has better sound for the money single ended. If you wanted an upgrade to the d10 down the line, the d50s is a good choice, which I would rate higher than the su8 when using single ended

Awesome thanx

Guys I want to pad roll a bit. Everyone says the ZMF universe perforated suade pads. But will the non perforated be just as good? Dont want to make them to relaxed.

If you dont want them too relaxed, maybe you should try the Hybrid ZMF Universe pads. I havent tried them, but based on my knowledge of ZMF pads, those would probably be your best bet. The sheepskin universe pads created a hollow sound that I didnā€™t particularly care for.

Thanx will try to read up and see if anybody has tried that combo yet. But will the suade vs perf suade be better?

Iā€™ve owed this thread these pics for ages, the quick and dirty Sendy Aiva stick tape fazor (I got this idea from when DMS did this to his M1060Cā€™s) (Iā€™ve also removed the hair in the picture) Its done on all four sides back and front of the left and right driver

And you would say this mod is a win in your opinion?

Overall yes really focusses the mids I found, doesnā€™t seem to funk with the overall sound signature and assists focusing that air. Iā€™m excited to get ZMF perferated Micro suede pads but Iā€™m one of those people who really liked the stock sound with the peferated stock pads

I also want to upgrade to the ZMF pads but mostly for comfort

I had the perfect EQ settings for my Aiva but lost the file and cant remember what exactly I did. Here is what im running them atm. Anyone else running a eq with the Aiva?

Found the perfect eq for me, add some sub bass but not the upper bass that makes it bloated and boomy. Also added some in the midrange. Really brings out the vocals.

@M0N would like your feedback on a nice eq for the Aiva

I donā€™t use eq on any of my headphones (except a select few when doing studio work), if anything I just boost the subbass a bit by like 3db but I donā€™t do that often, so I canā€™t help you out too much lol

Ok thanx, what range would you boost to bring up the mids a bit?

Iā€™ve never tried EQ whats the pros and cons of doing it?

EQing should be in a case-by-case scenario. Most people will describe that they will use EQ only 5% of the time, but when itā€™s there, itā€™s nice.
Letā€™s say, you like 90% of your sound, but just want a touch more of one thing or less of another, EQ can do that for you.
Or, if everything sounds great, but one recording sucks, you can EQ for that one song, etc.
