Correct. The HD580J doesn’t come up for sale too often in the used market since Sennheiser only produced them for a limited time before moving onto the HD600.

I’ve still got a 580P somewhere with a broken headband and worn to death pads lol (my first headphones given to me as a kid when my dad upgraded to the recently released 650 (pretty sure he also had the 600)), my other senns are in much better condition

The KSC75x I have are a pain in the rear with cat and dog hair. It will get stuck in the the casing and be rattling around when the drivers move, it drives me insane lol. I have to take the pads off, and either blow or suck the hair out. That solves the problem, but it is more frequent when I am home with our pets lol.

You swapped out the potentiometer or just the knob?
Just the knob, the original simply pulls off without tools. The new one had a set screw that tightens on the potentiometer only.
