🔶 Shuoer Tape Pro

Yes using both Spinfit CP145’s and Azla xelastec. You might have good luck with CP145’s as they are slightly longer and will allow for deeper insertion.

I really dislike how dry and grippy Xelastics are. :5 What is the purpose of that…? The material seems thicker, though, so that should help with seal(if you can tolerate them).

They certainly do take some getting used to and won’t be for everyone.

I received mine a few days ago, not tried yet different filters (but they have already enough bass for me, so why should i bother). The tips that works best for me are the Xelastec and the Symbio W. I also own the first Tapes, but the high medium and the treble was killing me. Problem fixed on this new version, at the expense of the detail. While it’s still very detailed it’s not as detailed as the original Tape.
Bass is a bit bloated, i’d have liked it tighter and with a bit less quantity, personal taste.
I’ve read a lot of comments about the vocals being pushed back a lot but i don’t agree, it sits a bit behind in the mix but not so much, vocal clarity is pretty good. I was afraid that they reduced too much treble to fix the original’s flaw but fortunately they seem to have found a good balance, treble is not anymore as forward but still present with good sparkle. Very good highs, just lacking a wee bit of details there. The only flaw i’d hear in the Pros, same as the original is the lack of coherency overall, i can clearly hear the dynamic driver’s range and the electrostat’s playing together but in separate “sandboxes”. imaging capability is average.

I got the silver version which i find stylish, and the choice was also made hoping they would cope better with time abuse, my original Tape was black and they look very scratched.

But for the price it’s still an amazing achievement, Shuoer Tape done right this time

Is the bass bloated in comparison to the original tape?

about the same i’d say. Not the tightest bass. It bleeds lightly into the mids. But again this is a matter of personal taste. I like my bass more accurate, tighter, with great resolution but less impact.

is the timbre similar to the original? That is, is it a more unnatural sound that sounds unique?

Personally it sounds very natural to me and cohesive, I’d of thought HBB’s video review would of noticed that on his unit.

Thanks for the suggestion on the tips, I ordered the CP145’s since they were far more affordable here than the SpiralDots (roughly $5 vs $45 for a single pair while the Xelastecs are at least $60 or so.)

Using the Tape Pros for a while and then going back to my SHP9500’s and BA5’s, it really highlighted how “grainy” those two actually sound and it’s kinda weird now.

You can get Xelastecs delivered for $19 anywhere in the world fyi from Linsoul, just takes a couple of weeks.

Sounds great. No more a sense of another driver than a $2,900 Empire Ears ODIN which is proudly displaying the lack of “cohesiveness” via the DD and it’s amplitude relative to mids being done by another driver. /s

Despite their physical issues(ouch) and fairly dry sound, the nicely open soundstage and separation makes these very nice for FPS gaming, and complimentary enough to my FH3 to keep around, I think. In fact, I feel like Tape Pro and FH3 are more different than similar, for better or worse.

This is after about 90 minutes of wearing them. It’s bearable, but not fun.

What tips do u use it?

Ouch, can see the crease in your concha where the back of the IEM has pressed in. Luckily my concha is large enough don’t have any issues.

Me, I’ve just been using the stock medium tips so far. Call me boring.

How does these blue and silver screws work? The snares of the drum hurt my ears too much in these iems

I believe that the screws only change bass-levels, so you may need different tips to resolve this. The Tape Pro didn’t seem particularly peaky, so I’d think thay narrow-bore tips, foamies or possibly even filter material could be used to dampen the highs to taste.

Hm. I find these very tame in the treble(without being veiled). What IEM(s) don’t have this issue for you?

Kind of curious here, what are the differences between the Shuoer Tapes and Shuoer Tape Pros? For I do know the non-pro version is already that good. If there are any improvements on the Pro version, what are those? would it be the sound? the build quality? or other aspects that are overall can be attributed to a game-changing IEM?

BGGAR made a comparison video, T vs TP.
