Glad to hear! I also own a Hiby R5 and I have a TP on the way, canāt wait to get it!
Ha ha. I think you have it backwards?
FH3, the soundstage KING. EDIT: I wasnāt serious when making this comment. This was Zeosā basic description of the FH3.
I actually find the soundstage to be pretty big. But its not a king lol.
Not according to my ears! I find FH3 has pretty nice frontal imaging depth, but overall a small soundstage size. TP are open-back(right?), so I donāt think FH3 has a chance here!
I wouldnāt classify a breather hole as open-back to be fair. The size of the hole is about the same as those on the Moondrop Starfield.
I havenāt heard Starfield, but Iāve heard they are really good for gaming(just like the TP), so that would correlate. The hole on the Timmkoo C630 is also small, but I think itās enough to make a big change, similarly.
What I mean is that a breather hole is not something that even comes close to what is essential for an open-back headphone. The size of the outlet is like one pixel. Itās like if you would take one single hole in the whole net of the back of a HD600 and call that an open-back, lol.
Well, Iām not comparing headphones, but IEMs. If one has no mesh hole, but just a pinhole or 2 in the shell, Iād call it closed. If itās got a significant mesh opening directly out the back, Iād call open, or semi-open.
Not to mine either. But I found it quite interesting that of all the FH3ās strengths, Zeos finds the FH3 to have soundstage larger than the HD 800. I found it really funny you and Zeos describe the FH3 completely opposite one another.
No.
As far as the soundstage size? He says the imaging sucks? :\ I would equate the FH3 to a closed-back headphone for sure lol.
Can we agree on semi-open back? Iāve never heard something like the iSine, totally open o_o But surely thereās a big difference in openness, even with an opening of this size. Unless itās just a mesh, outside of a closed shell, and not an opening at all.
ok, I thought you were still using the dayton mic. But your graph on it is still very missleading with the treble areaā¦
Ha ha, no. All IEMs have venting with dynamic drivers. It doesnāt make them āopen backā.
Personally I would consider the FD5 to be semi-open with that amount of venting, but all IEMs with dynamics need venting to allow air to move properly. It doesnāt make them open-back.
This is an open-back IEMā¦
yeah, DDĀ“s need a vent.
Although there are some vented BAĀ“s, but not all of them need a vent right? Like the Audiosense T800 has a vented BA for the bass, but doesnt have a vent on the shell.
Personally, for inner-ear comfort and when any air is moving within the IEM, there should be venting. If there isnāt sufficient venting to allow the air to flow, suction might pull on the listeners inner-ear. The dynamic also may seize. BAās are less susceptible to this happening because they donāt move as much air as a dynamic driver.
yeah, I agree. I cant stand non-vented iems, the pressure is very uncomfortable.
OK, I can agree to consider the TP not open-back or semi-open, since it only has the mesh hole, and no other pinhole vents(like so many IEMs have). ;p BUTā¦ I still think the location and size of that vent causes a significant increase in soundstage, compared to shells with pinholes that are not facing directly out of the ear. Otherwise, why would it sound so much more spaciousā¦? :5 Wait, doesnāt the TP have three holes? The mesh vent, and 1 hole at each screwā¦?
the soundstage is nothing special on it.
putting it mildlyā¦
