SIMGOT Un-Official EA500 CULT THREAD

I have come to prefer just placing a new filter directly over the stock configuration. Often to remove the filter and replace it I either damage the original filter or find I can’t get it back in place right and have lost the filter later on.

Just putting a new filter directly over the original filter removes these opportunities for failure, for me

@GooberBM Congrats on post 400. Guess they’re officially popular!

Lol thanks. It feels nice to know that the way I try to carry myself is well received.

I like plenty of sets but I hardly ever say something is a must buy. I’m glad enough people grabbed this at its lowest price and hear enough of what I heard to feel good about it.

It’s not the only option sub-$100 but I think it’s a very compelling option for many people

Yeah, give the T tips a try - they’ve typically been on sale for about $5 on Ali for a full set of 3 in one size or S, M, L if you want to try em out first before you invest in one set of a one size. I like em so much I have 2 sets of each size because they seem to really work on most of my IEMs when it comes to sound. They boost the bass and warmth a touch without losing staging which is the most important for someone like me.

Also, all hail the Simgot god known as @GooberBM :handshake:

I bought a second set, just in case something gets broken on mine, or I loose my first set or Simgot stops making EA500. I consider EA500 as the single DD benchmark, just like HD600 is among the neutral headphones. Something else needs to be better or as good as EA500 or it will be no buy for me.

I’m so sorry for this super late reply, but the Earfits have more of a matte finish if I’m not mistaken? I have those as well, and they did work for the EA500, and actually changed the sound to have a wider sense of stage but the fit wasn’t great.

But again, YMMV! Let us know how they work out, brother :handshake:

Ah you’re right - I have the Xelastics as well, and those are the sticky ones, not the SednaEarfitlight. I’ll chuck them on and see - I normally find them to boost the treble a bit too much, possibly because they are wide bore, but maybe it’ll be different with the EA500

They didn’t boost the treble too much for me, but what they did was reduce the 1.5k region maybe? Causing the vocals to sound a touch more distant, giving this illusion of a deeper stage. I think it may be due to the longer nozzle, the driver is so far away from your ear drum.

Just playing around with my new coupler set up and thought I would graph my EA500 with my vent mod.
What do you think?

Yours looks like it has a lot more sub-bass than mine from that raw graph lol

EDIT: didn’t read the message that it has a vent mod. That makes way more sense of it :man_facepalming:t5:

That’s what I’m talking about! Forgive me for missing your vent mod… are you using micropore tape?

Just listened to these again after a week off. They’re so addicting. The mids are completely open and clean. I love them.

If I had a wish list, it would be to evwr so slightly lower the pinna, maybe 2 db. I have a bunch of filters and foams I can play with, but no test rig, ao will have to be by ear.

I use a 1/2 piece of high density 4mm x 3mm stuffed into vent and a tiny piece of micropore tape and a metal gril on top

While looking for some tips in my desk drawer, I came across some tuning nozzles I purchased years ago. Thought I got rid of them. As it turns out, they fit the EA500, so more options to play around with. Unfortunately, I can’t remember what brand they are. Searched purchase history on eBay, Amazon, PayPal and my credit cards. No luck. Here’s a pic of them. Hopefully someone can identify them and they are still available for purchase:

EA500 are on the left for comparison. The unknown nozzles are in the right. They come in a set of three.

Omg tbey look wicked!

Argh! Was driving me crazy, but I finally found them. They are RHA tuning filters for their T-series iems. It’s hard to say, but they may or may not be available any more. I bought them direct from their website back in 2021. It looks like the bass nozzle can be found on eBay and Amazon.

Honestly though, if you don’t already have these filters they’re so expensive, you’re better off trying DIY modding options
