đŸ”· Sivga SV021

Hey! So in the end, you weren’t happy with the sound when you got the headphones, but after the burn in, you feel as though they’re different and now actually suitable to listen to, for yourself at least?

OTOH I still don’t understand why they ditched the white-padded maple+silver 99 Classics, I wouldn’t have been able to decide between those and the walnut+silver if I was in the market for 99s back when they came out.

i just want to throw out that i hated these things. they were fairly comfortable (pads were nice i guess) but they just aren’t it. maybe for the price they’re ok but i hated almost everything about them and i wish sivga would have just properly tuned a p-II driver as a closed back. would have been a lot better. hate to rain on anyones parade but i’d take a pair of 770s all day over these. price wise they’re ok i guess but i still wouldn’t choose to own them. wondering if the bad fit @voja is talking about was my problem but i don’t care either way. they just aint it. find a pair of aeon 2 closed used and get the noire pads and just don’t bother with these is my recommendation.

“Nothing to complain about” This is what is said about Sivga SV021 Robin headphone in Z Reviews.

while I know one cannot judge a headphone by simply looking at the FR graph. But I really want to hear peoples thoughts on this in comparison to the meze 99 classic/noirs as one I have a pair of the noir and two the graphs posted by Crinacle look very similar between the two so I want to know how close they where in terms of sound.

Here’s another review:

Compares w/HD-6XX, Sivga Phoenix and Philips Fidelio X2HR.

Says sound stage and detail retrieval are above average.

Good value but there is some vocal sibilance.

100%

I went pretty rough on them, possibly broke/pierced through something on the right side of the headband (will include the photo in my review), but yes, they finally cup my ears. The headband is fully deformed, making it useless for resale, but at least I can grade them accordingly.

The fit is still not perfect (there is space behind my ear), but I physically feel that there is “suction”.

Of course, I will state that it is more than insane to expect a customer to bend these in unreal shapes and angles, so there it is. Is it possible? Absolutely (thank you Zeos for proving that!). Is it plausible? No.

I know that if I made a purchase (regardless of the price), I would not feel confident doing this. It’s important to keep other people like me in mind!

In fact, phoenix and SV021 are almost same size. If you like classical music, I think SV021 is more suitable for you. Because it has larger soundstage than phoenix. I don’t have Grado Sr60x, no more suggestion for you.

BTW, I like your profile picture

Amazon advises that my Zebrano (a.k.a. Zebrawood - “The black version, composed atmosphere, low-key but not simple”) will arrive two weeks earlier than the predicted 17 Oct 2021.

SIVGA (I presume) says it’s,

Ear Placement: On Ear
Form Factor: Over Ear

and that it’s an earphone, so I’ll be wearing it over, on and in my ears to listen to my devices “vividly play the sound quality effect”. They also say,

The black version comes with a matte paint finish

Given that the grain of the zebrawood is clearly visible but is darker than its natural colour, I suspect that rather than paint, they mean stain; that is unless the gunmetal finish of the yokes and headband which “are made by scientific and exquisite crafts, which makes the noble and luxurious texture design” are painted.

I’m assured that after the music is over, there is no problem with dirty backgrounds.

When the music stops, the background is clean

I received the Sivga SV021 now and must say I’m really disappointed. The treble is more boosted than any Beyer or Grado I heard. The size adjustment is too big on the smallest size (and I have an averagely large head) and the pads get really warm and sweaty super quickly.
The sound signature is very W shaped and can get fatiguing quickly.
I’ll return them and try to find something else in the sub 200€ range.

Clearly it’s Oppoty and Driams ^^

Gotta love Chifi.

Now arriving another day earlier!

The deep warmth of my BL-30 gives me all the oppoty to driam. I trust the SV021 will do the same.

It continues to perplex me how the well-established and successful businesses with significant sales in the English-speaking markets (and the U.S. of A.) rarely find the US$50 or a unit for a native speaker to translate the Engrish manuals and/or marketing for their products.
I won’t mention a certain vendor which gets free assistance on their Discord with the horrendously confusing language used in their competitions and sales and infestation by feral apostrophes, as I’ve already taken us too far off topic while sharing the good news of the early arrival my Zebrano.

Yeah, mine were supposed to arrive next Thursday, now they’re showing up tomorrow

They’re here

Very masculine looking!

The cup is actually more a Mahogany than black painted wood? That’s actually better IMO,

Yeah, all of the pics I’ve seen give the impression that the cups were black. I was so pleasantly surprised when I pulled them out of the box.

Yup. They are not black.

I’d say dark walnut.

I also like the fact that they are not black =D

Looking good. I was going to ask the obvious, but

That is certainly a nice wood finish, but is way more than a small variation from the published images, to an extent which makes me wonder why they didn’t offer three or four combo finishes for the product.

Initial impression on sound?

Mine left Aberdeen, MD, this afternoon and should arrive tomorrow.

I have my first impressions posted in this thread. Am currently working on the full review.

In terms of the images, oh well, SIVGA is known to have bad pictures and great products. From my experience, the official images always looked significantly different (for the worse) than the product in real life.

I think it would’ve been neat to have black leather and the rosewood ear-cups.
