The connector is glued down, maybe due to excess pressure caused the connector to disconnect. I would recommend using some super glue to secure the connector.
Cool, thank you Jeffrey
No problem, if any problems come up let me know immediately and I will have it fix asap.
Very sorry for causing such inconvenience
For the short term till I get some super glue I just held the jack in place while I plugged the chord back in and everything works great.
So far so very good, after more listening i’d sum up the Moonlight as an excellent allrounder without glaring weaknesses and with obvious strengths in balance, control, detail and imaging.
Amp choice matters quite a bit, on my Burson C3R wider soundstage, heavier bass and generally smoother sound made an audible difference to my E70V / A90D stack. Said stack on the other hand has the advantage in detail, control, seperation and imaging. One word on the bass quality: The Moonlight are indeed not the optimal choice for bassheads if the pure amount of bass and punch are the deciding factors. They do however - as stated earlier somewhat dependent on the amp choice - offer a really well controlled and textured bass.
All in all, this is a through and through enjoyable headphone if a balanced tuning is something compatible with your taste. Very enjoyable to look at and to listen to with pretty much any kind of music. Imo a great package for the price.
Yeah, I think Moonlight likes class A amps in general (granted I like class A w/ most headphones). I notice what you experienced with your C3R on my Soloist 3XP. It makes me wonder what they would sound like on a powerful Tube amp. I also explained it this way to a friend who has heard the Arya Stealth and Starry Night v1 on my setup: It is like the child of the two. That might not be most peoples take on it, but it was best way I could explain it to him.
My Moonlight is on the way with delivery tomorrow. I am excited.
SO… tonight I’m going to see what my Feliks Euforia 20th AE does to them… ill report back
I’d be very interested in the arya comparison. Did anyone had the chance to compare it to the sundaras? Thank you.
FIRST Impressions are… DONT use it with a tube amp unless hybrid… It needs dat power.
The Arya is more airy due to having a more open structure and bigger driver. Technical performance seems close, but I haven’t A/B them yet so I am going by memory (been using Starry Night a lot prior to getting the Moonlight). Moonlight has a more organic sound signature than the Arya IMO, and I notice decay of instruments stretch out longer. Both headphones benefit from a quality amp, but Moonlight really does vary in sound depending on you source chain (amp more so). From what I recall from when I had a pair of Sundaras I would give it to the Moonlight between the two. The Sundara is a great headphone at its price, and it also responds well to power, but it is less amp dependent regarding its overall sound. What amp would you be using to drive Moonlight if you were to purchase one? Maybe one of us have tried it on said amp.
There are some Tube amps that are designed to handle lower than 32 ohm loads, but not many I can think of. I will most likely play it safe and get a hybrid when I purchase my tube amp. I will come up with a plan to fit it on my desk before then
You can’t see it in the picture, but there are also a pair of Klipsch RP600ms bookending my desk. lol
Or get a tube amp that handles a low ohm load lol.
To be fair I’m not replacing my Euforia for another amp just for 1 headphone. So I guess I’ll manage
I’m just messing and I totally agree with you. I went speaker amp next to the euforia so I can play with hard to drive and very sensitive headphones.
Never mind — I was clicky too fasty
Thank you very much for such fast and fact packed response. I have singxer sa-1. From what I’ve heard from Zeos it should drive them with little to no headroom. I think that if I’ll max my dac output (Geshelli j2) it should be and pair fine. Does anyone have different experience? Thanks
Here they are!
I think rose blue would have been a much better color choice.
And i expected the wood to be more shiny. Is it safe to oil it?
So far one criticism - the packaging is really simple, the air bubble foil was just on 3 sides of the box and one cup touched directly the carton box. At least a simple bag would have been nice.
Comfort:
so far great. Very light and plush ear pads.
Soundwise:
On the first listen i missed the wow factor. But after serveral minutes of listening, they sound really nice, neutral and balanced.
Running off an Topping A30Pro on high gain.
Other headphones: Hifiman Edition XS, Meze 109 Pro, Sennheiser HD6xx, Beyerdynamics DT880/600
Hi, I wonder how do they compare to Meze 109 pro? Thank you.
As it has been said over and over again at this point, they are very amp dependent. I am still going try them on my Topping L70 when I get the chance, but between the Soloist and my 2 x Gjallarhorns they sound better on the Soloist. It seems that class A amps and hybrid tube amps are the sweet spot for Moonlight from what I have read and heard thus far. Right now I am also trying out two other headphone cables I have to see if it makes a difference (for the better hopefully). My soloist is also flipped to high gain and cranked between 30 to 65% volume depending on the track. So most amps will not have a lot of headroom with them. Thanks for sharing, and let us know if you discover anything else once you have spent some more time with them.
