TH-X00/TR-X00/E-MU Teak/Denon biodynamic general discussion

No, I get that but if you do the Lawton mod it really doesn’t matter because they’re the same driver.

Exactly. The two Lawton mods I’ve completed started with Mahogany headphones. I got one new from DROP for 350 after Josh’s review hit.

how do you take and post screenshots like that?

Snipping tool in windows

Yup.

@PapaEmeritus is correct. Fostex TH 610, Emu Teak, TR-X00 (all three variants) and lower tier Denon use the 1 Tesla Foster Bio Dyna drivers. Fostex TH 900 mk2 and the high tier Denon use the 1.5 Tesla Foster Bio Dyna drivers.

I would also recommend against the perf lambskin. I use the Ori lambskin pads with home made attenuation rings and I really like it. The highs are only slightly raised (I have to turn it up quite a bit to really notice) and the soundstage is bigger.

Thank you!

These are really nice and affordable. I’m looking for some reasonably affordable stands for a shelf I’m working on. Looks like your base is more of a rectangle vs the base they show on their website as a square. I’ll have to see if they can give me additional details. Don’t want the base to be bigger than the surface of the shelf.

Which stand are you referencing? If you need a dimension, I’d be happy to give it to you from any of my stands.

I was referring to the beveled edge one. The zmf stand has their measurements online but beveled edge isnt as clear.
I appreciate it if you have time. No rush though and thank you!
I’ll either build them or just pay the $40. That’s not a terrible price.

The base is 7.25" x 4.5".

Awesome and thank you! Seems like its a little longer than needed. Zmf is a little shorter at 5x6. I’ll probably go with a smaller base like zmf if I build them. thanks again!

So
I have order this one now

After i see it is better as the Lawton pads.I hope i do not regret it.
50€ with customfees and shipment to Germany.

Actually i find the Mahagony little sharp in the highs.
Is it possible to damp this with no change cups to Lawton?

I have see a beatiful Cups from Lawton but not in the Budget.
Or when one sell his Ebony or Purpel hearts cups sent me a message.

The Lawton “Tune Up” kits are suppose to help with resonances and may tame the highs a bit. They’re not too expensive either. I think they’re around $45 USD.

I hope it, and perform a little better as the Lawton in the highs.
I will see in 10 days .

Do you need any kind of rings below these pads? ( I’ve read something somewhere).

Unfortunately, the wooden cups play a large role in the frequency response. It’s the only thing differentiating the different models.
