Why are they in a cooler master box?

That’s the box they were sent for shipping.

If it fit it sits I guess. Hope you enjoy. Are you planning on doing the Lawton mod?

Only the tune up kit from Lawson. Accessory house pads and dekoni rings. And maybe in the future will do the balanced mod.

I would recommend doing a “dry fit” of the cup side of the tune-up (the cardboard price and the foam) as I find they dampen the bass too much. I just stuck them in with a bit of blue tack to test. The driver side is subtle, but definitely an improvement. It makes the sound a bit more refined and increase instrument separation.

Will try before gluing them thx.

I’m using the Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads with Dekoni attenuation rings on my PH. The bass did drop off a bit without the rings and the rings brought that right back. Comfort is superb and I don’t think I’m missing anything over the stock pads.

Thinking about doing the removable cable mod and the possibility of using them balanced I thought of this: the female connector is touching the metal frame, that would be ground. But is this frame connected to the other cup frame through the headband estructure? Because it could cause a short. I think it’s not connected, feeling with my hands, and could work but I’d love to hear your opinions.

It will almost certainly be a problem. The headband is mostly metal and all the connections between the headband, yokes, and cups are metal as well.

I don’t think it’s connected through the headband. @Hazi59 did the 2.5 cable mod.

Congratulations. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

It’s just great, blues, soul and vocals sound like in a concert.

How does it sound with stringed instruments and orchestras

Timbre wise it’s very nice, pretty organic sounding. I think the presentation might be a bit intimate for some but I think it would preform fairly well

Here’s a few links for detachable cable mods for the TH-X00’s:

Thank you I’ve seen some, it doesn’t seem difficult. But I’d really like run them balanced.

Wouldn’t cutting into the baffle like that affect the sound?

Finally received my cups today. Marbled East Indian Rosewood.
