The DEALS thread

Lol, sorry. Yeah I’m gonna buy it, but I’m waiting till the last day to see if there is anything else that I was gonna buy anyway, that way hopefully I can get free shipping.

This. This is my exact thought on the matter. I just got through buying the Clear Mg, why in the world would I even be thinking about these? But I am, because $20. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Might as well join the crowd. $15 in rewards so $5 KPH30i + $5 shipping.

Drop stuff is too expensive to bring over for their low price stuff…anyone know if Koss matches Drop pricing though?

Estimated ship date is Apr 23, 2021 PT.

And shipping fee, right?

Nah… $5 off for a 45 day wait doesn’t seem worth it.

Yeah, but think about it that’s pretty good, imagine if ever item that went up was 16.67% off. It would be insane, especially since it’s actually 33.33% off if you get $100 bucks worth of stuff. Plus, if you just want the KPH30i because you’ve heard it is far too good to be $30 and you don’t need a pair of cheap headphones right now, a month of waiting won’t hurt. If I was looking for my new daily driver headphone and I saw these then yeah I would agree with you, but let’s be real, anyone well informed enough to buy what looks to be a dollar store pair of headphones doesn’t plan to daily drive them because they already have something better. So a 45 day might be worth it depending on your circumstances.

That being why it’s a good deal, let’s talk about what’s really the issue here…Drop ship dates. They are extremely long to get $20 off a $300 dollar pair of head phones. That is one of the biggest reasons I have actually never abought anything from them. Also the ceiling for free shipping being $100 is a little much in my mind, although for a audiophile centric online seller $100 could be a drop in the bucket(unintentional pun, sorry) when someone is already spending $2000 dollars on a pair of headphones.

Hopefully the move to having only audiophile and keyboard items on Drop and the rest on amazon will help with the ship dates at least. If you haven’t heard about that here’s a link to the post I am referring to: Rumors and new releases thread - #916 by Sgtdap

By the way thanks @Sgtdap for the initial post, this is fairly big news that a lot of people could have missed.

To summarize my short novel, Drop takes way too long to ship things, but occasionally the wait could be worth it.

I doubt it, not that I would necessarily want that. I’ve heard bad things about their international shipping. That makes me not want to buy directly from them even though I live in the US.

Unrelated to the original post, apos offers price matches. However I’ve never heard of someone doing this let alone price matching to Drop (Please note that I already looked for you and they don’t carry Koss stuff). Does anyone have experience trying to get them to match Drop sales prices? It could be a useful way to get Drop deals without having to deal with Drop’s bs.

They go on sale on Amazon for $18-20 sometimes. Last was like two weeks ago or something.

Personally, I’d rather spend the extra $5 and get them in a few days rather than nearly two months.

Larger purchases with better discounts, and Drop’s special stuff–totally see worth buying. But small stuff like this… eh. :man_shrugging:

Fair enough, I didn’t realize that they went on sale on amazon all that often. I’ll have honey alert me if it goes on sale before the deal on Drop is over, because your right if you can avoid Drop and still get a deal then you should probably do it.

If you’re KPH30i’ing properly in your life — you’re not buying KPH30i’s for TODAY, you’re buying for fourth set for the FUTURE. So you’re okay waiting.
White/Blue arrived today here!
Waiting to see Clear version for $20. Maybe I’ll go to prison first to get them.

Hey y’all wouldn’t it be crazy if you could get the SHP9500s for just $62? Well you can right now!

My wallet is now $62 dollars lighter :frowning:

wow, almost worth shipping these to europe

Fantastic budget / entry-level open-back. The clamp force was too light for me but they’re very comfortable; I often forgot I was even wearing them.

How much does shipping usually cost from the US to where you live?

Hifiman HE-560v4 is also on sale (Open Box) for $229 at Adorama, so I am debating, between M1070 for $239 or HE-560 (I’m in the USA), I have the Asgard 3 to drive them, currently I have the He-4XX (only planar) and I have the KG712, what you guys would recommend? Sorry if this doesn’t belong to this thread. Delete if it doesn’t.

It’s not only about shipping… taxes are usually quite high.

In general or specifically for these? I’ll answer both.

For these shipping is free from walmart and ebay. Monoprice will charge $10 usd to ship them to me.

Free shipping has become pretty standard from big box and amazon, with the exception being you have to spend something like $35 or more, which is pretty easy to accomplish. That being said our postal system is quite literally dying. It’s bleeding money, I’m gonna go out on a limb and bet that you live in Canada. Yeah shipping is dumb there, sorry. It is extremely uncommon to pay more than(or anywhere near) $20 on shipping in the US for most things. Shipping times are not bad either usually less than a week if your paying for the lowest tier, and usually only 2-3 days when it’s free from big box(since they have warehouses everywhere).

Maybe that answered your question maybe not, taxes are like 7-10% of the cost of the item, so that might mean something or not. Hope I helped answer your question at least partially.

Monoprice sells it in the EU. There was a sale on 1070 and 1570 not long ago

Tbh with many Drop products I find the price still cheaper after tax (20% for me) than buying locally

The HE-560 v4 are a great paring with an Asgard 3. Full and well balanced. I typically don’t need more than 1/4 -1/3 volume despite the low sensitivity.
