The DEALS thread

Hmmm, well, you can go to something like the zmf cans or some more relaxed fun cans like that, but there really isn’t a direct upgrade to the 600 atm. Some claim the aurorus audio borealis will be a direct upgrade, but after hearing them I am a bit doubtful. Also you could upgrade your amp and the 600 will scale with it too

Oddly enough Zeos reviewed the HD280 Pros (new version) recently and said he never heard so much of a difference between solid state and tubes than with this. So if you need cheap closed-backs… there you go heh.

Yup, I’m an idiot. Did not see this. Nevermind. :stuck_out_tongue:

If only I had the funds, I’d consider indulging myself… However, I don’t so this sale is just a cock tease from Monoprice. Could have swarn Zeos had done a review of the Monoprice electrostats and shat all over them.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Is that really just a loop of him looking at them?

I bought them because he said something along the lines of “I heard Jesus in them” lol
So far I haven’t heard Jesus, but I’m gonna burn them in more and hope for a religious experience.

Their pretty good for what they are, but that was definitely a hype overload, I feel like his previous experiences may have skewed his perspective a fair bit

KPH30I for 20 sounds like a steal. I’ll prob grab a pair.

@BoomShroom Also, I would actually recommend the KSC75x on there over them at $17 if you prefer more detail. I’m actually liking them more than the KPH30i on most stuff. Or just get both.

Which do you think are less likely to fall off when I’m out and about? At that price range I’d be happy with the sound quality of either, I would pick whichever is more suited for outside use.

I would say the KSC75 are more comfortable, they just hang on your ear, so they are okay as long as you aren’t running or tilting your head around a lot.
The KPH30i clamp better and won’t come off easily, but are quite uncomfortable after about 30 minutes to an hour because of the clamp.
One thing is you will have to wait until February 6th for the KPH30i, whereas the KSC75x ship in the next 4 days.
The KPH30i are also on Amazon for $30. Amazon has free returns usually so you could send back if you don’t like them.

@BoomShroom I also just now figured out how to bend the ear clip on the KSC75 in such a way that it goes all the way behind and around my ear and they fit a little tighter now. So much less chance of falling off. If you’re going running or jogging though, I would still use the KPH30i. Just walking around the KSC75x should be totally fine though.

@Soren_Peregrine After an hour of painfully going back and forth and considering every variable known to man I went with the KPH30i because I would prefer the clamp for the gym and other activities. Also I have big wobbly pancake ears and from experience similar on-ears flop on my ears and are uncomfortable to me. I appreciate all the feedback!

Yeah if you’re doing all that, the KPH30i are the way to go. They are on ear. If you are able to, replacing the stock pads with Yaxi Pads for Porta Pro can make them much more comfortable.

I cannot confirm because I don’t have a Costco membership, but I read that they have a deal on Klipsch R-41m for $89.99. In case someone wants something small or a pair of surrounds.
