I have the PH currently my favorite headphones to listen to. I would agree that the stock pads are uncomfortable to me. Could not wear them too long with the stock pad as it did start to press on my ear. Currently I use them with the ZMF Eikon pads and love them. Significantly more comfortable and it also opens up the bass and treble. I will say the headband is a little uncomfortable for longer session and I’m probably going to get a zmf pilot pad in the future, but would highly recommend this headphone. Never tried the argon but love my purple hearts
Thanks for the input. The headband was a concern for me in large part. Just looking at pictures of the DH-7200 it looks significantly more comfortable. Have you had any issues with QC? A lot of forums I’ve read stated their build quality is subpar for the price.
It doesn’t feel that premium but I haven’t had any issues with the fostex I have owned, although the denon feels more solid in the hands
I got my X00 second hand off AVexchange and it’s the only fostex i’ve owned. The set I have seems to be fine as far as QC goes. The size adjustment seems a little loose which is not really an issue when i’m using them but when i take them on and off their stand i do generally have to re-adjust them, but that may be due to them being older and worn rather than the bands quality
I’ve never followed Audio Technica products - what’s this one’s party trick?
Very intimate, very good treble, light and airy sound, really really good for competitive gaming and female vocals or stuff like violin, comfort is dependent on how wide your head is lol
So a large grado?
Not really, it’s not fatiguing and it’s brighter with a less emphasis on mid-range and bass. Also it’s more intimate than a grado with more precise imaging too. I also think it’s quicker sounding than a grado
Hmmm… Not sure I’d like that. Curious though.
The DT177X is back on Drop for $380. If I hadn’t just bought the Nighthawks these would be tempting me
Also available on Amazon I think!
Hey buddy, does this company happen to make a suede pad that would fit a ZMF?at half the price, that’s a good deal if they are similar enough. It’s the only one i’m missing and couldn’t find one thru amazon…Just curious.
How does the Emu teak compare to the massdrop fostex’s?
I haven’t seen any yet. I have been actively monitoring as I would love to compare them to the ZMF Universe Suede pads.
People tend to prefer the tubing on the teak but they are similar in technicalities
Status Audio CB1 on sale for 50$ down from 80$ These any good? pads look nice
for the price they are really good build is questionable. sound performance around m40x,CAL!, takstar pro 82 level. cllamp is light but comfort isn’t oo much of an issue.
