@Antpage2 Are these the E-mu Teak? Or just another E-mu headphone?
If they are the Teak I would say jump on them.
yeah its the teak, but they come in bamboo too. I’d get the Bamboo ones.
The sound from the teak is supposed to be better than the Rosewood and Bamboo cups from what I’ve heard. They also had issues with the cable housing if you read back on earlier drops. Seems like that’s why they switched to a wired cable. I own these and I am a big fan. @BoomShroom, they are definitely not as bassy as the Cascades, but they aren’t lacking either. I would put it somewhere between the Fostex Ebony and Mahogany, but there are a lot of people who rate it higher than the Ebonies. Very good headphone for $350
They are a brighter more balanced signature compared to the Cascades, although I think the Cascades have a bit better technicalities
Interesting, thanks for the thoughts. They do seem like good value for what they are.
Yes, I agree they are very nice for that price. I just don’t know if they would be worth a buy if you have the cascades unless you wanted a bit more aggression and treble
Yeah, you’re right. For now I’m content with my trifecta of starfield/elex/cascades to cover all the bases. Maybe an RNHP/Clears upgrade down the line lol
would you also say the emus are redundant for X00 owners?
It depends on which x00 you have. I don’t know if it would be worthwhile if you had an ebony, but I think if you had a mahogany or purpleheart and wanted a more refined sound it would be worth considering if you already like the sound
Dude, the E-Mu Teak, at least from what I hear, are like the Fostex Ebony and x00. They maintain that fun sound, yet are more refined. That just seems like a great price to me. I wish I had the money for them argh.
Still 16 more Bifrost 2 B-stocks in silver for $639. Great price, love mine.
Klipsch Synergy Black Label F-300 Floorstanding Speaker with Dual 8" Woofers, Pair for 300$
20% off all Empire Ears on Bloom Audio and Moon Audio (if not everywhere) through March 20th
dunno if it’s been mentioned, but the Little Dot Mk II is discounted to $113 on Drop.
I forgot to mention here but if you’re from Canada you can get a Micca MB42 Center for 65$ CAD shipped…!
“Retail return”. Bought and received mine, looks brand new. Not installed yet.
Edit: Installed. Man, great in-your-face mids (carbon fiber I think). That’s a perfect center.
Also, two of these for 130$ CAD for a stereo setup?
(Lol, 2 available – if that’s your idea, go go go!)
But remember you can also get a pair of Dayton B-652-AIR (I think that’s the name – with the AMT tweeters) for 100$ on Amazon.
Eddie Current seems to be closing down, last of the inventory being sold off.
Even at close out pricing, I could never afford their gear.
what are their prices, Shane? nothing listed on their site
Gotta email or call them. Figure $2k on the bottom end and it goes up from there.
