Focal Elear $400
Similar tier sound wise, I actually might prefer the sound of the enog 2 pro by a slight margin lol, but the su8 has way more features and a look that might be more appealing to some lol

Cool I recently bought the enog and was considering the su 8. So good to hear I couldnt go wrong with either. I’m using an El Dac 1 in my living room though. How does that compare to the su 8?
The El dac is solid as well, it’s got some slight coloration but is very pleasing imo, sweetens things up a bit, I wouldn’t worry about it imo already really solid
Thanks, I do notice the color difference in the El dac compared to the enog which i like in the living room. And the enog sounds better with my headphones. K712. I know the bifrost 2 is highly recommended so might be getting that down the road after headphone and amp upgrades.
I’d personally lean towards the enog if it had a USB input. Don’t love the idea of only optical. I need the option.
no usb is what has always ruled it out for me. i use basic mobo’s as i do not overclock or use on board audio or anything. and basic motherboards dont have optical. and most likely never will.
edit: and with the cost difference between an entry mobo and a bells a whistles mobo, you could get a better dac then the enog and not worry about optical only
Thanks for posting about this, I’ve been lurking the forums for a while trying to decide what headphones to buy, and would probably end up making another asking for recommendations thread - but this deal was too good to pass up. I’m aware some people don’t like the Elear very much, but at $400 even if I end up disappointed, I can resell it locally with no loss.
I hope I managed to order before they sold out and don’t get my order cancelled, they’re out of stock now.
Amazon has the same price. I have occasionally seen prices at Amazon dip just under $600, but $700 is a very good deal for these.
I’ve seen it go for 575 on amazon and believe that is the price hazi payed for a set on amazon. Anyone know if woo audio ever has a sale on their headphone stands?
This is true, I purchased mine for $575 off of Amazon. The prices tend to fluctuate frequently.
Unfortunately, I started to ignore this thread. It has gotten a bit too spammy.
thoughts on the El Amp 2?
I actually have one myself, I really like that amp, plenty of power on tap, neutral yet a bit spiced up. It’s got some smoothness in the treble and something with the bass and midrange has some extra sweetness that makes it sound pretty enjoyable
cool! might upgrade my atom
it might be an idea to prune or archive these threads periodically since they get so long and a lot of the previous information goes out of date. not the advice so much as expired deals and specials.
I agree, most thing posted aren’t even deals they’re just inflated prices with a cross in it with a lower price, which happens to be more than you can buy from another place with a simple google search. Not everything thats on a website that’s on sale is a deal lol
