The DEALS thread

BRAVO V3 HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER 45$

Not sure how much i like the on board EQ… I’m also curious as to how good it actually is

Yikes looking into them, they are apparently more of a toy than anything serious. And either the tube or the components themselves just don’t last long. Honestly looks so cheap it looks like an Arduino project or soldering kit for comp sci in highschool

Maybe only post a “deal” if it’s larger than a given percentage? There’s huge markups on audio gear typically. Posting a deal at say less than 10% off as example isn’t a “gotta buy now” thing for me.

If I’m already in the market for an item or model of something, I’ll find the lowest price for the small percentages off. I usually peruse forum “Deals” threads for items on a big sale for impulse buying, something I don’t ‘need’ but at such a great price it’s now a want.

Seeing 50$ off an 800$+ amp isn’t going to make me want to buy it now, but someone closing out inventory and marking at half price? Sign me up!

Its not very good lol. But it can help in small measures

Idk, this is the little amp that got me into tubes. At the time I was listening to a lot of different audio equipment and when i put the this tube amp on my sundara i was blown away. This is what i remembered my music sounding like! So it was very educational for me. however i sent it back cause it would distort easily. But i always turn up my volume too high. so maybe someone here will like it.

Yeah me too. I usually try to post sales that have a significant discount.

I think that’s a pretty good guideline, though even a small discount off of stuff that tends to be fixed price might represent a good opportunity. I had been watching prices on 64 Audio U12Ts for ~ a year, and other than maybe show specials (I forget what 64 Audio does), I hadn’t seen any discounts anywhere. When headphones-dot-com offered 20% off it was an instant-purchase, but even had it only been $100 off it would have been enough to get me thinking.

By the same token, if anyone sees even 5% off some Empyreans, lemme know. (Although it had better not happen soon, 'cuz ZMF has all my money, lol).

Haha, I’m really interested in the Empyreans and would like to try them at CanJam Chicago if it’s still on after all this pandemic.

For smaller prices off, maybe just have it forum decorum to mark it on that particular product’s page? I love the format where I see new posts on pages I’ve read, highlighted for ones I’ve commented on, so I assume any smaller discount on a product I’m interested in for a discount to give me an excuse to buy, I will see that way.

Just my thoughts on it, I’m likely to keep reading this thread no matter what it is or becomes haha.

I had planned on going to CANJAM SoCal again this year, which was supposed to be in Irvine again in June. Last time I checked the site it was showing a date in December (just in time to get canceled by the winter pandemic resurgence, lol). We’ll just have to stay tuned…

I tend not to use EQs, and I’ve heard the V2 is supposedly better… Admittedly, I’ve considered the Ocean. Tube (hybrid probably), class A, cheap…

sometimes 10% off is as good a deal as it gets ever. ever see schiit for instance on sale? the b stock asguard 3’s and bifrost 2’s were less then 10% off and sold out instantly. its all relative. just saying. not to mention peeps that, say for instance, accidentally fried their gear through static charges, need deals now.

its all relative. maybe start a new thread for going out of business type deals? but then why? when you can scroll. maybe instead make people post how much off it is, for quick glance purposes.

source to back that claim up? my brother in law is using an original Bravo Ocean tube amp and he bought it so long ago he can’t remember when he got it. no issues at all.

could be some batches had a QC issue…that’s not uncommon.

I looked up the Drop when I first saw it, lots of comments about QC or lifespan in the discussions. It was enough to make me look elsewhere for my first tube amp (hunt continues) for something to try out.

well, it is a cheap amp.

good amp’s aren’t expensive…so many in the $100 range now it’s almost ridiculous. Liquid Spark, Magni 3+, Heresy, Atom to name a few of the most popular.

Just looking into the discussion comments on massdrop from people that claim to own it. If I wanted a hybrid I could just spend a $50 more on a loxjie or an smsl

duh…we are talking hybrid’s. unless @M0N knows of something cheaper, I think the only ‘budget’ hybrid amp to go with is the Schiit Vali 2.

I mean if you really wanted the sound of a hybrid the liquid spark is great and is something I prefer over alot of the cheaper hybrids
