The DEALS thread

After reading this I purchased using the link above and still got the sale price. Seems to be only available from the link, navigating through the site shows the 890$ price.

This is the exact case I use for my collection of headphone adapters and whatnot that I posted the other day in the WDYBT thread:

It’s very well made and cool shiny color. Price here is about ballpark of what I paid for mine, but I got it from Norne along with the hypershort adapters.

ARGH! Elegia at $429 or Sony MDR-Z7M2 at $399? The weirdness I keep hearing about the Focals’ uppermid/lower treble sound has had me hitting pause for a year, but the price is too tempting. And I never thought I’d see the Sonys at under $500.

Strong rumor that Elegia is being discontinued… Heard direct from a focal dealer… so if you are considering you might want to jump on it.

really? isnt the Elegia a newer model?

elex probably cannibalizing the elegia sales

For that I do not know… Just what the focal dealer was telling me… not sure what it means at all… probably replacing with a new one… sales figures? who knows…

Edit: 375 each. Looks like this gen is being discontinued

They are owned by Klipsch, doubt they are going anywhere. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, and deal–I’ll post a pic when they get here.

These really are some of my favorite headphones, and at that price I picked up a couple to give as gifts and an extra one to TBD.

Found $429 in my couch to get the Elegias. Way too good of a deal at that price. Was going to get a pair of closed backs at some point this year…now, I guess, I don’t have to.

For any Canadians looking to grab Klipsch HP-3:

https://www.electronicsforless.ca/klipsch-heritage-hp-3-triple-vented-semi-open-w-52mm-kg-520-biodynamic-driver-headphones-8533.html

Click the active coupon and it adds to cart at $1,249.00
Coupon code MAYO brings it down another 65 bucks.

If you are in Canada this brings the price within striking distance of the recent Adorama sales.

Sub-Total: $1,249.00
FREE SHIPPING! (No Delivery Charge): $0.00
[Discount Coupon: MAYO : -$65.78
13.0% HST (Ontario): $153.82
Total: $1,337.04

Total for both is 568$ but apparently if you choose “SP200 + M200” it’s 525$.
Might be a good deal, especially if the “2625 Rewards Points” are worth anything, because Shenzhen Audio sells a lot of inexpensive-but-good (…chi-fi) stuff.

Hmm, maybe I didn’t order 3 after all…

Adorama: “Your payment has been declined”
My CC: “Huh?”

Just got an email stating my payment was declined, but talked to my CC company and no charge was ever attempted. Adorama has my payment info on file, so something is fishy here. Maybe they didn’t want me ordering 3 of these? Or maybe I’m not supposed to have the super-secret link?

Anyway, will sort this out in the morning…

UPDATE:

This looks like a site issue with my saved payment info. The email they sent out (as well as order history page on the site) included a link to update the security code and expiration for my card on file, but that didn’t resolve anything and I simply got another “payment denied” email. After the second denial I placed a new order and manually entered my card details again, then went to bed.

I woke up this morning to order status = “preparing for shipping,” and my card company confirms a pending charge has been made. So I think this was a store bug, and hopefully I’ll have shipping info soon.

2ND UPDATE: Got a tracking number today for the lot of 3. So looking good, all except for relying on the site to cache payment info.
