Wow thanks Jefflebon! you may have solved a mystery that we’ve been wondering about for a looooooong time. The Acoustic Research AR-H1 is the earliest headphone we’ve tracked with this driver. since then theres been many that have copied the Aiva style of headphone version which was the first headphone to make a big splash with this driver.
We thought that there was someone out there who was manufacturing the driver but could never find out who. Kinda funny that i can buy the driver off alibaba for 40$ and make my own headphone like so many other companies did lol.

This looks like the oem that goldplanar is buying from and throwing their logo on for a small profit. Kinda cool I wonder if these guys are the source for all the chifi planar driver’s including iems.
That’s how manufacturing is most enthusiast or pro headphones cost less than a $100 to manufacture and materials. Sub $200 probably less than $20 . Of course I’m excluding anything high end mostly mid to budget gear. We as consumers just kinda have to accept that and eat the costs for profits Helios probably cost like $10-$15 per unit same with the 58x or senns and Beyerdynamics but maybe a bit more due to those headphones being manufactured in Europe. But then again German efficiency

Ive decided against buying the GL400 and GL600. Found out their a little bit dark. rolled off treble. can anyone confirm this? would be nice if Zeos could tell us what they sound like >.>
GL400 demo from Z sounds quite clear. GL600 is apparently quite dark.

GL400 is only good after mods that cost as much as the headphone does, LoL!
That’s an interesting cute little thing. Smol 80$ portable and easy-to-drive planars is a feat in itself.
The sound might not be for everyone, but, color me curious. Grado-looking and probably sounds better than grados too, because to my ears, that’s not hard to do better anyway. 
Or, to say it differently, “they look a bit like Grados, and like Grados, they’re definitely not for everyone”.
