I think its intentionally misleading, if not mistranslated. Why specify just the driver is German made? But yeah, I couldn’t say for sure
well at the end of the day it doesnt really matter german made or not if its a good product its a good product if its bad its bad. goes for everything Ive used some garbage made in germany headphones and heard some awesome made in china literally my audiophile life blood is chi fi
The driver was engineered and manufactured in Germany. The housing of the headphones from the headband to the cups and damping/tuning is done in china.
They managed to sell a headphone with high end detail and great sound for 180$ So i think they did what they could to keep costs down. its an amazing headphone that could act like the Aiva/m570/blon b20/sivga p2 in forcing companies to lower the costs of their headphones. thats always a good thing. Maybe Gold Planar can do the same. one of the reasons i’m interested.
I think a lot of companies are afraid to go against the industry and lower the costs of their headphones. A lot of Asian companies dont seem to be afraid of that lol.
Hedd are also doing this in offering the detail of flagship headphones at a lower cost.
thats mostly because they have much lower overhead they are new and no one really knows much about them so the only thing they can really promise is good sound for a good price.
Yeah but thats the same for a lot of companies in other parts of the world and it still doesnt stop them from charging all they can lol
I mean profit lol and chinese gear isa dime a dozen while something like a albanian made and designed headphone can be more expensive its a new concept. still doesnt matter if its bad though.
I feel like when you are a new company, you have to do something to get your name out there or you will drown in the market (cheaper price, innovation, etc). Once people know your stuff, I feel like most companies will probably follow suit with the others.
A good example of this I guess is the OnePlus brand of phones. They came into the market as the good, but cheap brand and now they have a flagship just like 4 years later. Curious if some of these headphones companies will follow that same path.
Not trying to be a doubter, but may I see your source that verifies this?
Lol jk, what is it exactly you want to see prof of?
GoldPlanar just looks like the “KZ” of planar/amt chi-fi.
Therefore I’m patiently waiting for the GL600 review.
Wow thanks Jefflebon! you may have solved a mystery that we’ve been wondering about for a looooooong time. The Acoustic Research AR-H1 is the earliest headphone we’ve tracked with this driver. since then theres been many that have copied the Aiva style of headphone version which was the first headphone to make a big splash with this driver.
We thought that there was someone out there who was manufacturing the driver but could never find out who. Kinda funny that i can buy the driver off alibaba for 40$ and make my own headphone like so many other companies did lol.
wow the ribbon HPs are very sexy.
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2020-New-High-Tech-Dynamic-Drivers_60737130344.html does this look familiar to you guys? This looks like the oem that goldplanar is buying from and throwing their logo on for a small profit. Kinda cool I wonder if these guys are the source for all the chifi planar driver’s including iems.
That’s how manufacturing is most enthusiast or pro headphones cost less than a $100 to manufacture and materials. Sub $200 probably less than $20 . Of course I’m excluding anything high end mostly mid to budget gear. We as consumers just kinda have to accept that and eat the costs for profits Helios probably cost like $10-$15 per unit same with the 58x or senns and Beyerdynamics but maybe a bit more due to those headphones being manufactured in Europe. But then again German efficiency
hmmm…this makes me wonder if the M0N headphone HFG is working on will be contracted from GP.
Would you knock it off lol
Stax SR009s and a 3ES…# Mon . com lol
That is a very interesting site you have found lol. No relation of course. Also if I were to make a headphone, it wouldn’t be electrostatic
