šŸ”¶ Tin P1 - Planar IEM

Now $149 on Drop :+1:

When I got my P1 the first thing to do was to change the cable to a balanced one for my FiiO Q1 II that has not only the usual unbalanced output but additionally a balanced one. This was not so practical for checking out its comapatibility with my other amps. So I came back to the cable that Drop had sent with this IEM. Then I saw on the Linsoul web page that they sell a ā€œbetterā€ copper cable, the LSC09 that sells for $ 80. Can it be, that the Drop supplied cable is this one, it looks the same for me at least? Then the package would be a bargain for me even more (even taken into account that this cable is very very loosely braided.)

Might want to consider the new Shuoer Tape. Easy to drive and sound great. I have and love the P1 running balanced cable to my Fiio portable amp. Recently received the Tape and initial impression have it better than the P1 and easier to drive. Only had/listened to the Tape a short time but so far loving it.

#MON have listened to the P1ā€™s yet?..as a bit of feed back would be :sunglasses: ā€¦I know this iem drives lovely audio signals into my ears without any complaintsā€¦detail @ Ā£140 = pass :+1: midā€™s pass :+1: treble forward but never fatiguing pass :+1: Bass is fast no decay (I like this) as a posed to wobbly subā€™sā€¦Just need to find an iem that can do that and add a bit more of a 3d soundstage (yep hard or an iem) still looking at the FiiO FH7?

As I never had a tube amp in any hifi rig I bought another(!) amp for the Tin Hifi P1: A Nobsound Little Bear B4-X made by Douk Audio. And it delivered: Power galore, even my weak Pioneer XPD-100 now can be used with earshattering levels. Even combined with my cheapo Hidizs Sonata DAC-cable it sounds great. (But of course it helped considerably with the sound signature to find good fitting tips (I have bags and bags of all the different tips). With silikon tips I did not get a good toght fit for a good bass response (only when pushing them in a little bit with my fingers, but this is no solution of course). Short foamies were better but the best bass I get using relatively long foam tips (I do not know any more, where I got them from).
After a few hours of listening to the B4-X i did not run into any hiss or interference problems. It is dead silent when it receives no signal.

I have not heard it, but I might get to soon.

Do it :+1:ā€¦probably not your sound sig but??? lol

Thatā€™s a Hybrid amp I think?

Yes it is a hybrid because it uses opamps

Listening to Gaucho on the P1ā€™s and damn lol.

Of course it is no ā€œrealā€ tube amp. That probably would not work out for a portable rig. The little Raytheon tubes are only used as buffers:

True unless itā€™s powered by a hybrid/electric pushbikeā€¦now thereā€™s a thing, tubeā€™s powered by eco energy :open_mouth:ā€¦Kickstart anyone lol.

I think Woo Audio have a ā€œportableā€ tube amp. But it is expensive and heavy.

Yes, it is really good but not something I would consider personally. Itā€™s about as portable as the idsd micro black label (so portable to me lol)

One of the main minus points with the Pioneer XDP-100 that Ihave is, that itā€™s battery does not last very long. But it can be charged during playback as it has a micro USB connector for charging (wheras every modern Smartphone as a transport only has USB-C for playing music as well as for charging.) I have an Anker Fortnite power bank with the typical 10.000 mAh that unfortunately adds another 210g but it easily charges the Pioneer during playback. But this does not help that much for on the go music as the Little Bear B4-X cannot be charged during playback as is rated for only some 4 hours. For a minimum rig I have to take another more efficient IEM with me (I like my MEE Planamic for this or a KZ AS10). As ā€œampā€ I found a mini DAC cable from Huawei, the CM21, that gives me a ā€œrealā€ volume knob and enough power for normal IEMs.

HD600 without a second thought!

Just got the BGVP T01 USB C Dac, a pleasant surprise. The power depends on the source usb to which its connected and my LG V30 + BGVP T01 + Tin P1 seems like a solid portable setup if not the perfect. At full volume its right in the perfect sweet spot for my liking. Also they turn P1 to a relaxed set of iem as opposed to the intense feel in some amps. Still the playing inside head with narrow soundstage yet pleasant. On my macbook pro, after half the volume started hearing some distortion and flex. Overall a gud tiny guy easy on the mobile battery.

Edit: the above holds true for UAPP. Other players like youtube or other streaming service might showcase the inefficiency of P1 again wanting mooooaar powa

The more I listen to the P1, the more I like it. Listening to them through my V20->topping nx4 on high gain and they really make me happy. Iā€™m glad they were my first ever iem ^^

Have fun being largely disappointed in most future IEM purchases.

I have been disappointed to some extent with my past IEM purchases, in most cases promoted then as *the" future IEMs.
