Lol, i am a little disappointed with OH10 searching for P1 in itā¦ Felt like T2s did the job well too. Guess usage of each iem in collection should be longer before moving to the other one to enjoy what they do best. Shuffling them on a day to day basis is bringing out the fan boy in me.
Maybe the Shuoer EJ07 then?
I feel like the āhypeā has died down regarding the P1 but those who actually got them seem to really love them (Ohmboy and I for example). The hype train always gets a little too fast for itās own good. The best thing is to see what people say when asked a few months down the line. Thatās when you get real opinions and not hyped up honey moon opinions.
Would that be like the p1 though?
If you are able to do so, just disregard the hype lol. It really does help. Really gets crazy these days
Should be more P1 esque with and estat driver, more so than the OH10?
I thought the p1 was pretty good for midrange, and I would assume the ej07 would primarily be using the estat ish driver for upper midrange/treble. I would just think the tape would be closer to the ej07
Disregarding price, I would imagine the e-stat tweeter would give similar detail to the highs (maybe less transient detail depending on tuning) and the BA could do the mids in a similar fashion. The dynamic would obviously result in more bass though. If the Tape are any indication then the EJ07 should be pretty good (especially for the price) butt probably not like the P1 in their tuning
Itās a 3 way hybrid so I think it would fall sound wise between the P1 and Tape?
But its a hybrid with baās estatās and a dynamic, not a planar
Iām actually looking at teh Ice Lab Reference, and itās pretty tempting, but I have to go hear it first
I greatly prefer the OH10 to the P1, but itās a preference thing and I feel that theyāre very apples-to-oranges. While I donāt have the P1 anymore, Iāll try to make some EJ07 comparisons whenever they show up and I have time to do so.
As far as disappointments go, in the time between getting the p1, Iāve gotten 2 other iems: the BLON Bl-03 and the Shuoer Tape. The bl-03 is very good and I have no complaints about its sound (or even its fit, if you can believe it). Itās great at what it does. The tape however was a complete dissapointment. I donāt think it should really be compared to the P1 in any way other than the question of detail. I think the P1 does everything better than the tape excepting for bass maybe, but when I listen to the P1 I donāt even think about that any more as well as the fact foam tips help that too. The P1 also sounds more natural.
In any case, Iām looking for a better bl-03 to be made in the future. I donāt expect something to really rival the P1 since it is planar and it seems to be rare in an iem. I just think of the P1 as unique.
In any case, Iām looking for a better bl-03 to be made in the future.
Iām personally looking forward to getting the Tin T4 (Already ordered). I think it could potentially be the ābetter bl-03ā. The Blons are good, but the bass does drown out the mid-bass a bit too much for my taste. I prefer the T2s over the Blons.
I actually enjoyed the Tape. While I still like the P1 better the Tape have quite good bass that does not interfere with the mids in my experience while still having great detail overall, even without an amp. Plus that metal mānām carry case is great.
I use a balanced cable and fat complyās. The world around me disappears.
Exactly what I run with the P1ās, I spend more time with them now than with my regular headphones they are that good.
Canāt wait and see what the P2 will beā¦Planar with a DD for the bass response?
So here goesā¦ I like this IEM, and even love it with a touch of EQ for sub-bass. Tonally it sounds great, I donāt have issues with sibilance, vocals and instruments all sound good and present with no glaring flaws. Without EQ they are very close to neutral to my ear and because the bass is not as in your face in the mix you donāt lose the details they are presenting.
The issues on why I dont prefer it more often are: 1) POWER-you need a lot, especially if you EQ the bass up some-think more than an LG V20- 2) Congestion-all the mids and treble all at the same time shoved in your faceā¦intensely punching you in the face lol nothing is harsh thoughā¦just there all the time, these donāt chill out till your dead. 3) QUALITY CONTROL-give me a working cable when I drop a buck 70 would you please China FFS! Right channel never worked on stock cable without dicking with it a lot(still dropped signal even after messing with it), should not have to fix stuff like that. Worked fine on other MMCX cables.
I prefer the Shuoer Tapes personally, because the cable worked out of the boxā¦ and I prefer the more open nature of the sound stage. It has more easily defined separation and presents sound in a less intense way for my ears. Please keep in mind that Iām in the minority with people who have tried both and prefer the Tapes. So you may end up liking the P1 a lot, I think they are the safer sound choice if you want something true neutral or close to it.

Got my Tin P1
How do they soundā¦ They are not for me, I can tell you that. When I first got them and popped them in I was very disappointed with the bass was non-existent and the sibilance and brightness was through the roof. I figured I would let them burn in for 24 hours and then try them again.
After letting them burn in the bass is meh itās there but I feel like I want more. I donāt feel like I even get sub bass if it is there. The mids and highs are painfully super clear. The P1 presents your music very sibilance forward vocals can be overpowering and I turn down the volume because it is overpowering. The Build is Garbage! Why does every tin iem have really loose mmcx? I checked the two campfire IEMās I have and they do not have this problem. I like the case they come with the cable is garbage Comfort is ok I have odd ears so itās a battle to find IEMās that work. In conclusion, I need to pry the knives from my ears and send them back to where they came from. I am glad to try them and know that my style is a more bassy iem with a more warm and relaxed sound!
