Tin T4 just got announced

cough p1 had loose mmcx connecter cough cough and my t3 cough tins qc is bad cough
How could tin do this loose mmcx connecters?:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My t2 didn’t have loose connectors

my t3’s mmcx is fine

So I think, if you want a very quick description of how the T4s sound… just now doing some A/Bing with the Blon 03, they sound almost identical tonally, but IMO the T4s have better and cleaner lower-mids. Listening to some vocal tracks with piano and acoustic gutar, the timber and sound of the instruments is a lot more natural sounding on the T4 and less ‘bloomy’ and ‘bloated’ sounding to my ears. Everything else, through the rest of the upper mid-range to the treble sounds very close, if not audibly identical in the time it takes to swap and re-seat the IEMs and start playing the track again. It’s almost like you took the T4s and turned on “bass boost” when switching to the Blon 03.

I do personally find the highs abit cleaner but elevated on the t4. than my blon but I do have one of the darker colored blons

but IO’m pretty sure this can be attributed both sorta kinda but not really aligning to the harman target cause thats what seems to be the hard trend right now

I do think T2s overall have the most ‘natural timbre’, I don’t agree the T4s are ‘shouty’, but they are more upper-mid forward in comparison… where as the T2s have a bit more treble ‘accentuation’ in comparison. So If you like the ‘sparkly’ and ‘detail’ feel of the T2 you might still prefer them more, but I think the T4s sound better with vocals overall. T2 can get a little too hot in the treble region for me personally.

if it’s anything like the t3 It’s not for me but I’ll find out in a few weeks when I get a hold of them to compare.

I think in terms of ‘value’ I think the T2, T4, and Blon are all easily worth in the $70-$100 price bracket. They are just as good, if not better than IEMs costing much more a few years ago. I know the Blon and T2 have really skewed things, but I think it’s important to put things into perspective a bit and realize these Chinese manufacturers are naturally going to ask for a bit more now that their brands are more established and they are more proven in the marketplace. I think realistically, the only time you can expect new products at the under $50 price point is when someone new comes in and is looking to prove themself in this growing and crowded marketplace.

I should have within the first hundred units publicly released so I had the good early production units before they rushed it out Im guessing is why

Just for context, what IEMs do you own and which do you favor? Also, what type of music do you listen to?

Currently, I own the P1s, T2, T4, and Blons. In the past I’ve owned the Shure SE530, Monster Turbines (Copper, Silver, and Gold variants), and Hifiman RE400. P1s are the most ‘impressive’ that I own currently, when driven through a proper amp and the only IEM that has really "wow"ed me recently.

The T4s are my preference so far based on early impressions for more conventional use, not requiring good amp.

I don’t really favor any of them overall, compared to just regular headphones. I would pick up and listen to the Neumann NDH 20s (or even the Koss Porta Pros) and take those on a trip before any of the iems. But they are fun to try out and I think they would be useful in a pinch.

Generally, I lean pretty heavily towards synth-pop (Chvrches) and more acoustic leaning R&B/Pop (Leroy Sanchez). Orchestrated soundtracks as well. Really like the Carol and Tuesday Soundtrack, it has a lot of acoustical vocal tracks and pop style music that is well recorded and not compressed.

More recently I’ve been listening to more Cello suites, Yo Yo Ma playing Bach, etc… The NDH20s really shine there and have pushed me towards wanting to listen more.
Occasional hip hop… Good Kid Maad City (brilliant album), Logic, etc, but not a lot.

Don’t really do folk, country, Metal, or American Rock boy bands (Linkin Park) though I’ve appreciated all of it from time to time.

Forgot to mention the T2 Pros… the highs there killed me, personally. They were too painful. I’ve seen some others say they are fine, but that was past my limit.

I’m soooooooooooooo intrigued to get the t4s based on everything I’ve heard. From the early reviewers raving on them to the members of this forum being split.

Crinacle said himself this iem is not for everyone no matter how much he liked it himself. I just happen to be one of the people that really like them initially and keep liking them now.

i do not own these. have 0 intentions of ever owning these. But I noticed some people are saying that the only difference is tuning. Even if tuning is all that’s different, I refer you to Modhouse Argons to see why tuning can make a HUGE difference and worth the extra price :+1:

Tuning often times means physical changes to things…even if its not the driver directly.

edit: I should say I am not interested because IEM really are not comfortable in general to me

I think they are more detailed and refined, but yeah they also do have a tuning adjustment

They changed to a newer driver

Nice. Honestly I would of assumed the 1 driver is better to increase the cost, but some were saying tuning.

Either way, presumably it sounds better which costs more =)

It’s both. They got a better driver in exchange for the 1 ba +1 DD of the t3 an imo made a better iem in the end
