For a dap with all the things one could need i too vote for the shanling m3x if you want something cheaper and mostly local files something like a xduoo X10 should also work for you
Love the cable
I am still waiting for my Mele but in the meantime I got a XINHS cable as per @Resolution rec.
My oh my. This cable is something. Built like a tank, looks and feels premium and sounds as good as my CEMA and Plus Audio cables. And thatās saying a lot. And comes in a nice case too. What more do you want from a cable?
The best cable I own now. I got it on sale and I canāt believe the value for price.
Here it is with Monarch.
Anyone know what options to choose from the xinhs 4 core/8 core silver plated etc page, itās less than 30 bucks but idk what options to pick and when I sell my first year uni books I think I might upgrade for the looks And longevity (also anyone know the diff between red and yellow spinfits?)
Not sure what you mean. Mele uses 2Pin 0,78mm plugs. Get the termination you need it to.
Both are CP100. Red is Medium, Yellow is Large.
Just pick the termination you (2 pin 0.78mm, mmcx etc).
While itās a bit of a debate, 4 core vs 8 core is mostly a cosmetic consideration. I donāt think it changes much for sound. Some people will fight me on this.
I got the 8 core because it was on sale and it looks fantastic. My CEMA cables are 4 core and they sound at least as good. They just feel thinner and get tangled.
Thanks, I own the red one and admittedly itās a wee bit small
8 core it is
Real reason I said 4 core isnāt because itās better or worse. Itās because of the weight. People should keep that in mind.
After spending some time with Mele today, thereās two words that can describe them perfectly. Natural and organic.
They donāt exaggerate anything, bass is there when itās needed. When it needs to hit hard, it delivers. When it shouldnāt take your focus, it doesnāt. Itās blended perfectly.
Test track that I use for this is Mercedes Sosa - Gloria, part from 1:06-1:15. Drums in the background should just blend with the rest of the music, too much bass and while itās a nice rumble, they take focus away.
Mids are perfect, female voices sound great, male voices sound great. Tash Sultana, Leprous, TOOL, Fuel,ā¦ all sound great.
Highs are non-sibilant which is great but it does lack a bit of sparkle on top for my taste for that feeling on āairinessā.
These will certainly be in my daily rotation and #1 recommendation to anyone whoās entering this hobby or looking for an upgrade from phone buds.
Oh and I need to say this again, Mele is the most comfortable IEM in my collection. Thereās no pressure point on any part of my ear.
Well done, @hawaiibadboy! Iām eagerly anticipating your future projects!
nice cable, what is it?
My Meles finally arrived today. Woot! Initial impressions are very good. Even with no burn in I defiantly prefer them to the TC01
s and the BLON BL03`s. Played some early ELP and King Crimson and even with everything going in complex tracks like Barbarian and Pictures of a City you could still hear instrument separation. Great clarity for a Ā£35 set.
Nice job with the tuning HBB, awesome results!
Satin Audio Hyperion, approx. USD 80.-
My Mele is out for delivery and should arrive shortly when the mail gets hereā¦ yea.
Okayā¦ WTF @hawaiibadboy this is not a fair IEM at all. I have been running through my library and trying to find where this is in any way, shape or form a $50 IEM. Any IEM in my collection I try to find that has an advantage in some part of a song are my $500+ tribrids. Honestly in just the tuning alone it is on par with them though.
At last, my gold mele arrived!! Iāll try and take pictures tonight.
Enjoy, I just got mine and honestly it is insane.
Iāve been listening to Mele all afternoon and itās so clearly to see that @hawaiibadboy had a goal to make an IEM where you can enjoy the music. This is Mele all about, to enjoy in music.
Yea, I kinda owe @Resolution an apology, I didnāt write it in a postā¦ but I was thinking he went a bit off the deep end (with hype) when he was comparing the Mele to the Clair. He wasnāt wrong in doing thatā¦ I should really just trust his opinion more.
