Ear canals are different

That is a great way to put it. I rarely find foam is my thing. I have a few different kinds, and try them but am never a fan of the sound, it always takes too much away.

I tend to find that the right answer for me is usually a Spinfit CP100/145 or Final Series E, but once in a while Sednas surprise me. I am sure everyone has something that work better for them.

For the Mele I find the stock tips are a bit too wide bore, which usually kills the bass for me. The Final Series E is really working for me and one that I have a few extras in the right size.

I am the same

Interesting, I was under the assumption that wide bore = reduced treble, but I guess this depends on the ear canal? I would’ve thought that you’re not getting a good seal with the stock tips and not the wideness of the bore? I’m a newbie so just curious

For most people, wide bore = more treble. Some have reported the oposite, but its quite rare from what I have seen.

I thought the same thing then realized that wasn’t what my ears were telling me. When I got on some forums both here and other places, it seems like most people have a similar experience.

After thinking about the sound waves, with a narrow bore, the bass travels through the material more easily where the treble gets blocked. So you experience pulled back treble and more bass. The simplified version is - When you stand next a car with the stereo going and the windows up, you hear the bass, not the treble.

It seems to also be a factor of the thickness and material used in the bore of the tip. The Azla crystal and xelastec material seems to increase treble more then some of the thinner/softer material wide bores I have.

I find the sedna tips are pretty wide bore compared to the Final Audio series E, or Spinfits.
Not as wide as the JVC Spiral Dots, but they are the outlier in my box of ear tips.

I was comparing them to other wide bore tips like the EPro horn, tennmak turbo and some others made of thinner silicone materials compared to what Azla uses.

I tried finals and thought the sound was fair.I like the 145 on the Mele. Different gear for different ears.

I concur
I noticed that I liked the Finals more while at my in-laws, but in my home office in liked the the Spinfits better today, so who knows what it up there. My place is much smaller, so I am sure the space around me is different, and I was outside for part of the time at the in-laws.

Has anyone compared Spinfit CP100 vs CP100+ tips?
Do they have a sonic difference?

I can’t find anywhere on the forum that anyone talked about the difference between 100 and 100+. I already know that the former uses edible grade silicon and the latter using medical grade, so no need for built review, just sonic. Thanks

Edit: I’ll summon @Resolution and @nymz then :joy:

@Resolution is the Spinfit expert, I dont like them that much (if I must, CP145 is the best of them).

I know someone said the 100+ is just a little tacky or grippy, but otherwise I haven’t heard much. I have a pair in the mail, and will probably put them on something next week, but I don’t have testing hardware.

They are both more similar than different. They are exactly the same size. It’s just a material change. I do not think there is any audible sound change that I can hear.

CP100+ feels to made of a slightly softer, stickier and more transparent silicone than CP100.

CP100+ actually feels more uncomfortable for me than CP100. I personally prefer CP100.
