Graph v.s. a guyā€™s opinion.

Always go with the graph bro.
It has no feelings :+1:

i feel like iā€™m stating the obvious here but
unless weā€™re talking moondropā€™s multitude of cloned shell releases then different iem shapes are going to cause deviations from a graph per different ears. you can lose and gain a noticeable amount of bass/treble from fit / insertion depth, if thereā€™s a vent on the DD getting blocked, and tips.

Looks like Mele has more rumble and neither has sparkle sparkles

Iā€™m going to go with crin like I usually do :+1:

I think Mele is smooth but not dark. Also, peaks after 8Khz should be taken with a grain of salt as any person who measures will tell you. It is literaly a resonance peak.

The stock cable was nice, but the Jelly Cable with 16 core definitely slightly improved the technical sound like imaging and sound transition. It has more clear, crispier, and slightly louder. The sound doesnā€™t grainy like the stock cable when i increased to the max volume. Aria ($80) comes with Bad cable quality. Mele ($70) comes with Great cable quality. Using a spinfit CP100 or 145, and tanchjim tanya stock tips (4-4.5mm), the instruments and vocal have more intimate and fun.

Another person posted that filter mod appears to improve the treble veil, this time using Moondrop 3 layers filter: Redirecting....

Can @hawaiibadboy please try out and also graph Mele with some filter mods? Thank you!

Edit: removed link to CP145 as the sale ended :frowning:

Edit 2: actually, more sales are popping up! Just search for Spinfit tips on AliX. E.g., ļæ”2.30 | DUNU SpinFit CP145 In-Ear Earphone Patented 360 Degree Free Rotation Ear Tips Silicone Eartip 4.5 mm Nozzle Dia CP100M CP800M

Not sure if anyone has shared this info, but since I was just going through cable listings yesterday, the Tripowin Jelly has graphene in it as well (AliExpress page info / Linsoul page says the same):

ā€œSilver-plated OCC+Alloy Copper Graphene+OCC Mixed Braided Cableā€

Makes sense how this cable is pin straight and wraps like a gem. This cable is my fav at the moment, with the XINHS 4-core graphene coming close. Knocked half a :star: off the XINHS because it doesnā€™t wrap as good and there are slight kinks here and there even when I tried to pull it straight, making me worry that Iā€™ll somehow break the threads within if I twist it too much. But Iā€™ll say the weight of the XINHS 4-core is perfecto.

Edit: Due to the weight of the XINHS 4-core and the lightness of the MELE, I eventually paired them together and used the stock cable for the weighty Blon BL-05s. Now the MELE sits tightly in my ears with a balanced weight on the earhooks. Just using this as a statement for how light the MELE is; itā€™s basically nonexistent when you wear them.

I fee a detail weā€™re missing is the question was particularly regarding staging and imaging - which they may well differ in substantially without it graphing, if Iā€™m not mistaken?

I assume these are the god mode cables they way everyone is about them. I not only donā€™t have a XINHS cable, I have never ordered from aliexpress, so that might be next on my chifi journey. The Mele is taking me places.

Donā€™t know about ā€œgod mode/tierā€ cables but I love them. I originally took a punt buying one when on AE on sale as I liked the looks. Now easily my favourite cable, high quality, look great, feel great, nice and flexible and perfect weight for me. As ever YMMV. No issues ordering/shipping through AE, not sure where you are but Xinhs orders take around a week and a half to get to me in the UK.

i think the praise is more for good prices, reliable soldering/measurements and customizability if you contact them.

anyone selling that type of specific cable (the graphene for example) will be the same not matter who sells it, but the soldering done by each manufacturer (ie, xinhs) that uses that cable type of choice to attach the hardware bits will make of break it

Meleā€™s bass attack is really fast on this track:

Even the Teas canā€™t keep up with Mele here.
For the music lovers :call_me_hand:

I had an extra pair. Used channel locks to squeeze em, and nothing but cap started to pull so I took off.
Going to need a tiny screw driver to take that backplate off.
Built like a damn tank :muscle:
If you ran them over the cap might come off but thatā€™s it.
Donā€™t do that though

I was confused for a second cause I thought the Mele > oxygen was you saying the mele is better :sob:.

One thing I would add to the list, rikudougoku highly recommends the falcon pro for metal/rock so that could be considered in the middle between dq6 and 3dt, or possibly better than the 3dt but youā€™d have to ask someone whoā€™s tried both.

(why is this upside down and how do I fix it?)

My impression on these is quite good! They have a lovely low end prominence that make you feel like you are always having a full rich sound around you. Itā€™s as if the YouTuber behind the tuning choices, Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (BGGAR), tuned these for his library and tastes!

I can imagine a library with live music recordings, maybe lots of 70ā€™s era music, and music coming and going around that era. The Mele seems to give a thick room or space filling soundscape from its low end.

These are something to have in addition to brighter gear. These are fun and super chill to listen to for an especially affordable price. You will have to spend hundreds to get a similar tuning from gear on this ranking list - at time of writing, October 1, 2021.

I currently see these as a B for my own enjoyment. When I tried alternating these against other higher ranked gear in my ears, I found that the Meleā€™s relatively lower brightness had me missing the ā€œclarityā€ I am biased for in gear like the Aria. And with the more expensive gear having fancier driver technologies to produce more enjoyable technicals, these Mele find themselves at a solid B - which is great for the price!

I would easily recommend these for anyone looking for a warm sound under a couple hundred dollars. This is the best value for the price within its warmer tuned category of IEMā€™s.

Oh, and not that cables are a big deal, but this set legitimately came with my favorite stock cable Iā€™ve ever had from any IEM. This includes the most expensive Iā€™ve tried. That doesnā€™t mean Iā€™m saying the cable sounds better (I donā€™t know about that topic well enough to have a strong opinion). What I mean is that the cable feels the best in my hands. Winding it up to fit in a case is easy. The texture of the sheathing, with the overall malleability of the cable, gives the cable an easy to manage feel when handling it in any way. Soft and thin too. Durable feeling enough as well. No kinking or weird bends. Thatā€™s not even the additional Jelly cable or whatever that I also ordered with the item. Havenā€™t even tried that one yet, I like the stock one so much.

An out of box impressions video will be posted in a few days probably. Stay tuned

Alrighty can confirm that spinfit yellows make the sound a bit more ā€˜audiophileā€™ reducing the midbass by a tiny bit and making it more airy and separated than the stock tips.
