Thank You.
This is the current state of the mele while I wait for the replacement filters and the tweezers. Happened while trying to fit some different tips.
You can pull it back with very small tweezers if you have some. Been there
yeah, may as well wait for the filters which come with a tweezers. I’m assuming the adhesive remaining will be compromised.
It might be, yes. Sorry to hear
Something must have been off about my set. I took off the little filters, and played with eartips and everything got bright. Put the little filters back on and used the old set of cp100 tips I had and the bass and treble rose. The vocals are still dry and ehh. Played bf4 all night with no fatigue and bass was tremendous. Not so much sub bass but midbass was great. Treble wasn’t as bright as I’d like for details but still managed to get everything in my ears. Gunshots have impact now. I like them now lol. There wasn’t anything on the filters or anything or moisture or wax. Idk what the deal was. Maybe it’s the cp100 tips that brought them out more. Still prefer the bl03 in everyway except soundstage but other than that they’re nice.
Does anyone know the diameter of the filters for the Mele?
I measured it to be 4.2mm. Way smaller than i thought but it because the nozzle is thick rather than wide
Thanks for the measurement. I’m surprised by how small the filter is. No wonder it was difficult to try and use other filters.
If I was in business with Tripowin I would ask for an 8D report on the filter failures. I would also suggest they release the specification of the filter in order to help I customers find a reliable acoustically-similar alternative.
Anyone got a suggestion for a TWS style foam tip (with filter) that would fit the mele. The regular comply work but kinda push the body of the IEM away from the outer ear (ie the IEM doesn’t fit as snugky into the ear). TWS type tips tend to be shallower and I think might work.
Comply do TWS stuff, but are not forthcoming with dimensions etc.
why not just take a razor blade or knife and cut about 20% off the back of the IEM? it looks like that is what Shortbus does with his comply foamies.
Do you guys recommend buying the qudelix 5k dac for the meles?
A simple dongle is enough, as Mele is a very efficient IEM. I use it with an Apple dongle all the time.
But if you want the convenience of having bluetooth and other features, I believe that Qudelix is the best choice compared to others in the same category and price.
I recommend buying the qudelix 5k DAC (full stop).
I don’t have one yet, but it is on my list, and has enough praises to be worth while if you want a wireless bluetooth adapter with LDAC support. That integrated belt clip can probably clip on to anywhere you need it: shirt, pockets, etc. Plenty of power for all day listening. Small. Works in USB mode as well. PEQ. Decent software support. A well thought out device that seems to let you use it any way you see fit. It is the definitive upgrade alternative to FiiO BTR5 that won’t break the bank IF you can find it in stock.
The Mele doesn’t seem to suffer from low output voltage, it keeps a nice bass and loud volume even at 0.5V_rms.
Agree.
Love mine. Great app and great SQ
Clip it on and go
4.2mm! The nozzle is thick.
does this DAC go well with iphone?
Just turn it around- definitely snugs it up. I do this with many different iems when working out. Also keeps the sound right as some hear a treble drop with soft ends out. You might even go down a size.
