I got my SDAC-B the other day and hooked it up. MacOS defaulted to 100% volume. So now I use them on gain 2 at 2 oāclock. Good to finally have a proper DAC to pair with the THX 789
I find the Vokyl to pair nicely with all the amps Iāve tried. One nice combination is de E1DA PowerDAC v2, nice pairing and really inexpensive, the only downside is that you need a 2.5mm balanced cable.
They agreed to, which is quite nice of them given the rush to ship out orders, but that also means that my order will be delayed, probably for quite a while Iād imagine, but Iām no rush as long as I get them with standard 2 pole mono connectors from the get go (I suck at soldering), this way can pair then with any of the balanced cables I got (probably the Sendy Aiva cable).
Not sure what can be done for those whoāve received theirs, probably a lot easier to have it done locally?
Those who havenāt received theirs though, might want to try and contact them for the 2 pole setup before they get them shipped.
I will be receiving mine soon (its flying over the atlantic as we speak). I wanted to ask if you ever got the dekoni pads for them, if so, are the sonically preferable? If there are impressions from any other pads youāve tried, it would be also be appreciated. Thanks.
Does anyone have decent EQ settings for theirs? I got mine today and honestly canāt tell much difference between the Erupts and my AD500X. Maybe EQ settings will help but Iām ignorant when it comes to EQ.
The EQ will depend completely on the result you want to achieve.
Ah well like I said I donāt know how to properly EQ for anything. Iād like two settings one for music (Metal, Rock mostly) and one for gaming.
Iām surprised you donāt hear a significant difference between the ad500x and the erupts
Idk maybe Iām tone deaf. Iāve had my 500X for years and I was expecting a big differennce today when I switched to the Erupts. I listened to Queen for about an hour and then swapped back to my 500X and couldnāt really tell. But like I said above Iām pretty ignorant when it comes to headphones/audio.
Possibly wear the erupts for a couple days straight without using the 500x and see if you think otherwise. Sometimes getting used to the sound makes a big difference
As a person with glasses these headphones are probably the most comfortable on the ears Iāve ever worn but the band starts to hurt the top of my head in about an hour. Not sure if thereās anything I can do to prevent that.
Max settings put out a video on the erupts, and he said their no good. All the negatives I most hate in bad headphones, he claims they haveā¦please be wrong! If thatās the case Iām gonna hate mine, and sell immediately. https://youtu.be/zeKPud67wck.
That seemed like a pretty strong review lol, I wonder what other prominent people think. That mic was ass though, so that would be a disappointment if you wanted it for that feature lol
Metallic tamber like the superlux hd681 and graininess like the shp9500, with bootleg fake soundstageā¦I gotta stop puking all over myself.
Lol, at least you know what to avoid for a new headphone
Folks at Indiegogo claim their great, but if that aināt the case I gotta give them the old heaveā¦ho!
I dunno, I personally donāt have enough interest in picking these up, but I only take an individual review with so much weight. One personās āsibilant and harshā is another personās āDetailedā. Someone can say something sounds āsmooth and warmā and another person will say it sounds āveiledā.
And Iām personally a little tired of people focusing so heavily on graphsā¦ if you focus too much on a graph, itās going to color your perspective on something. If you already have them ordered, then try and push the reviews out of your head and just decide for yourself. Iād be really interested to know how you feel about them once youāve heard them for yourself.
Yea I know, Iām just saying. Iāll know when I get them.
Yeah, but do give them time to burn in your brain and the driver lol, even if you donāt like them immediately
Yeah I always burn in headphones with pink noise.
