I have never heard any Chord products, but I was interested in the Mojo as a portable option prior to buying my DAP.
The mojo is pretty awesome, worthwhile if you just want accurate yet enjoyable sound in a solid package overall. I ended up selling mine for the ifi xdsd because I wanted a bass boost and a warmer sound for portable, but at times I had wanted the mojo again
I understand that. Ifi makes nice stuff and having a bass boost is a worthwhile feature when going portable. I actually wish more desktop amps had a tasteful bass boost option without getting into EQ and DSP correction type stuff.
The ifi pro idsd and pro ican stack sound up your alley then lol
Did you get a deal on it?
Yes! i had that too! lol. But in america wasnt Mazinger Z called Transzor Z?
How does that compare to the Elex? The Elegia is so much more expensive coming in at 900$ How do they compare to the Cascade and the Atticus?
You can find the elegia for around 500-600 on sale fairly often
Iâve been thinking about picking up a hugo 2 for portable because I love the sound of my tt2 so much but I run into an issue where all daps have decent dacs and amps built in and I have to choose which one is the best bang for buck
It would interesting if there was an android based digital audio transport available that had bluetooth and usb/coax out where you could just pick the dac to pair it to yourself for like 200 dollars
Used Android based dap?
Any cheap android cellphone does that.
Yeah.
Though to be totally honest what I had in mind was a bit more of a DIY project and more like a mini computer where I can install my own ssd with 2tb of memory.
Perhaps look into the aurender flow, I think it has a msata port where you can install stuff
I got my Elegia for $575 on Amazon. It sounds completely different to the Atticus or Cascade. The Atticus is more U shaped, albeit slightâŚwhereas the Cascades are V shaped and more for portable use. All 3 of them sound remarkably good, just very different. Cant go wrong with either of them IMO. I think it depends on what you already have in your collection. My collection was lacking a neutralish closed-back. I currently own the Atticus, Argon mk 3, HD650, LCD-2C, HD58x and Beyerdynamic T5PâŚso the Elegia rounded out my collection perfectly. Now onto some DAC upgrades and Iâll be goodâŚfor a while at least.
Oh no, Beats into DAC/Amps. lol
wow those look interesting
Pretty sweet for the price, can highly recommend for a neutral and enjoyable sound, they work pretty well in a room and on a desk
These will go head to head with my B&W DM601S2. I am hoping the smaller driver will open up at lower sound levels more than the B&W. I often listen late night and canât wake the kids so I lose some dynamics at lower volume.
