yeah thats really cool but i would need to buy an amp for both at home and record usage so it would need RCA and USB inputs and i might just have to do a new 58X

I was just using it as example. I had the HD6XX’s and did NOT care for them.
For you, the HD58X’s are a much better fit.

there is a bid for some slightly damaged (like a bit of chipping and thats about it) 58X’s on the site but that would require me to use paypal and my parents decided 200 in cash was better than a bank check

I happened to need a short RCA, mentioned it to an audiophile friend and well…I didn’t actually “buy” but I did trade for it. I’m curious to see if there is an actual difference in sound quality etc. that I can hear with MY equipment.

Damned curiosity got the best of me 
, it’s one thing to listen in someone else’s room w/ their equipment and another to sit back in your own recliner, w/ music you know and equipment you are familiar with. The Curiosity didn’t kill any cats but it left a damned dent in my safe! I can’t take it all w/ me so i figured I’d try and see what the hype is all about while I’m still around and able to recoup the loss.

What were your observations?
Not yet, I need time with this stupid thing. I have to move a big amplifier to a different room, pull a DAC and move that too and then sit there and do A/B comparisons till I can hear/feel something different or not. I’m headed out on travel again so this is gonna have to wait a few weeks. I’ll sure as hell shit on or praise this thing in due time.
