Lol, in high school I fit 3 mtx blue thunder 10 inch woofers and 4 6x9s in my Jeep Wrangler. Loud, but thank god I had the 6x9s for mids and treble, lol.
Donāt get me wrong, Iām not directly comparing the kph30i and the TR-X00 PH. My point was bass quantity is not my problem, its quality. The Porta Pros have a similar quantity of bass as the kph30i, but have a much higher quality to my ears. Like I said in a previous post, I think I got a bum pair of kph30i since it uses the same driver as the Porta Pros but sounds objectively worse (same or at least very similar sound signature but with bloated bass and muffled highs).
Your picture just reminded me to change from Burson Fun to Liquid Spark (right beside each other).
I understand. You arenāt totally wrong though, the kph30i does have more bass than the porta proā¦but the way in which you are describing them, you may have a bum pair. Either way, I highly recommend the yaxi pads. They fix a lot of the issues with the porta pro and kph30i. I havent tried them on the ksc75 yet, but Iāve heard good things about those with yaxi pads as well.
Your journey with the elex continues lol itās a sweet little amp for sure
Hopefully the next things Iāll be posting in this thread are an Asgard 3 and some yaxi pads.
Usually after two weeks I am itching to get back to one of my favourites. Usuallyā¦
Anybody curious about how the Focal Elegia is working out for meā¦it is amazing. My Elegia has joined the ranks with my Atticus as my 2 favorite closed backs. The fun neutralish sound of the elegia compliments the fun bassy U shaped sound of the Atticus perfectly. Iām hoping to eventually get an Aeolus or Auteur to compliment my LCD-2C in the same fashion.
What would you say is the biggest strength of the LCD2 Classic?
Definitely the quality of the bass and the mids. The treble isnt as good as the LCD-2 Fazor, but for fun listening it is great. It definitely is on the warmer darker side, but the 2C does have more width in the soundstage compared to the LCD-2 fazor version. I prefer the 2C for aggressive music to tone down things. The 2F is much more balanced, yet still warm for sure. If one wants something from Audeze with better treble, the LCD-X and LCD-3 are a better option, albeit much more expensive.
I tried the LCD 2ās a few times 3 or 4 years ago and wasnāt real impressed. Sounded kind of boring to me. But I have been reading a lot about the LCD2 Cās that sounds like they might be interesting to me. I recently saw some used and tried to trade, but that didnāt work. Then I saw an open box pair, but that was still a little pricey.
I try to get info on certain headphones so that, if a deal pops up, I know enough to jump on it.
Thanks for the feedback.
HD800S. I think Iām done for now until I muster enough motivation to go for a Susvara. Iām quite happy with āmyā TOTL stable: HD800S, HE-6 (prototype modded), and Arya.
Nice, sounds like a good mix
Got 2 zmf pilot pads. Wasnāt sure which material id like and I have 2 headphones it would be useful on. Got both the lamb skin and suede
Damn! Pricey USB.
Ebay lured me in to buy a Rupert Neve RNHP last night. Too good a price to pass up! Let the waiting beginā¦
Letās go lol, curious to see what you think
Everything Iāve heard and read gives me a lot of confidence it will be just what Iām looking for. Iām surprised that there arenāt more online reviews of the RNHP, but the ones I have seen are saying exactly what I want to hear. Plus, all the comments in the forum have been nothing but solid. I got a good price too! I canāt believe how much people are asking on EBay. Sometimes a couple hundred over retail.
@M0N BTW, the Studio 530ās are fantastic. Everything I heard about their transparency has been right on. The music just sort of hangs in the air in front of you. The soundstage is better than I anticipated and they are really comfortable and relaxed for a quasi-monitor but really revealing. Top notch tweeters. I need a sub that can keep up with these now! I will probably enjoy them as is for a while. My sub is OK for the time being.
They are def one of my faves in the price range when they go on sale, glad you are enjoying them
