Nice keycaps
Nothing wrong with ramen noodles my friend.
Now you all have me looking at my Sundara’s like they are made out of tissue paper…
I guess we shall see how long they last…
You should be fine lol, from my experience the sundara has actually been fairly reliable qc wise compared to older hifiman products
You may be lucky and never have any issues! It just seems that Hifiman has a higher volume of manufacturer variation and QC inconsistencies. Most people though have been pretty happy after buying the Sundara (one of the better sounding and better built hifiman headphones IMO).
I prefer my sodium in carbonated sugar water form. The only time I actually like the color green is when it is on the Mountain Dew logo. Lol!
Probably would end up with corn dogs and mini-tacos. Would not be able to afford mustard nor salsa respectively. sadface
Sweet!
Enjoy, my friend.
the lack of available toilet paper might force me to buy a bidet
They have been on my list forever. I hope they are as you hoped for
I agree with you there now shane. when i first heard them i thought they were great but now i hate them too. i think it just has a lot of shortcomings. its budget tier. but with the 58x so close in price, id rather have that than the 4xx. much better headphone.
Thanks! Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about them. I was always 50/50 on these and the aeon 2 closed. These have surprised me so far. Pretty comfortable (some people have complained about the comfort), a cool sound/a little different than what I’m used to (first focal).
There’s probably a warranty anyway?
That would mean they’re worth even more now (toilet paper shortage)
Zeos was all like “Click this link to save $100 off of the Drop price on the Ether CX” and I’m like “No way, I don’t believe you.” Well, Drop got the shipping information for it in 24 hours so not only did get $350 off of the headhpones I’ve never seen mass drop send out headphones that fast.
Oh and the Bifrost 2 came in today. I can’t even tell it’s a B-stock unit.
Nice, curious to see what you think of the b2👍
Not digging the heat it’s kicking out. Not like tube amp level bad but it’s noticeable and will require a fan for the desk while working all day. Digging the sound the clarity but I don’t think I’ll be getting rid of the Airist R-2R.
Sound on the LCD X’s are a bit warmer, so with the slight dark of the LCD X’s with the Bifrost warmness… I’m totally digging this sound. It’s definitely more musical and more accurate.
Schiit Fulla’s AK4490 DAC out comparison, I Bifrost 2 is just better no questions asked. Linux support for USB? Wonderful and sounds great. I tricked the driver to use UAC2 now standard so the sound quality has won me over on linux over any cmedia chip now forever.
Still getting used to everything and waiting for my Nuemann N20’s to come back to try it out with the amp and I’ll play around with the Ether CX. I’ll hold any final judgements on the Bifrost 2 after I test it with the Schiit Heresy and the through the THX 887 on balanced cables (it’s running single ended right now).
Oh… the remote control is virtually useless but it shows this Bifrost is a leader in the sound signature for mid fi and is ready to be enjoyed with speakers. I’ll see how it handles an audio extractor later with a TOSLINK from a Chinese company. I’m curious if I can trip the BBG light with the audio extractor.
Yeah imo the remote is extremely unneeded, at least it’s a nice remote lol, glad you are enjoying it
So… because THX 887 is hanging over the top of the this Bifrost 2… question for you on the RNHP. Since it doesn’t have balanced out, do you even USE balanced out for your headphones? Besides helping to get more power to some cans… I don’t seen the need for balanced and I challenge people to show me where cross talk exists to any noticeable amount.
This Bifrost 2 is making me consider the Asgard 3 or RNHP seriously.
So imo if your amp has balanced out, use it, because the amps will sound better balanced since that’s where they put the money and design, into the balanced account. If your amp is only single ended, don’t worry about it. Balanced and single ended can be on the same terms imo, it just depends on the design. For my balanced amps I use balanced, for single ended I don’t worry about it
The real value of balanced is really only apparent with differential amplifiers.
Since they are amplifying positive and negative signals, and the output is A-B any noise introduced by the amplifier is cancelled out.
But they require 2x the number of amplification circuits, so for similar quality they have to be more expensive.
They aren’t fundamentally better, but if the amp is differential they commonly have higher quality output if they have balanced in and out.
