It’s oddly peaceful within a massive backdrop of uncertainty.
I saw a picture of the cig-alert traffic map and it was ALL GREEN. The sky has been clear and full of wonderful clouds. From up on my local foothill trails you can see the ocean (a friend relayed this yesterday).
We went out this morning for a few groceries (milk was the basic objective), and there was a line formed about an hour before the store opened (Trader Joe’s). It was the same scenario at Whole Foods on Monday. Fortunately I got what I needed both times.
There was definitely tension in line. Very few smiles, some hidden behind the wrong masks (my partner pointed that out to me. )
Talking to one of the workers there that we’ve known for while, he told us how shitty people have been. It’s pretty sad that times like these bring out the best and worst in people.
I was born and raised here and from my experience Los Angeles attracts the best and worst of humanity. I blame the entrainment industry.
Yeah, I’ve been wanting them for a while now. I’m kind of a “neutral/warm” (with a touch of analytical) kind of guy.
The Clear kind of represents the best of what Focal currently does before they start to tune for “audiophiles”.
That RNHP is my jam!
It’s natural (analog-esque) presentation is so enjoyable and non-fatiguing, yet it provides an astonishing level of detail, and clarity. Especially since I’ve found that it’s improved by the Palmer Purifier (it really focused everything), I can’t go wrong with another (I already had two units previously).
It’s my reference amp that tells me what the dac/headphones are doing.
I’ll eventually replace my leisure/main setup with a Phonitor, but in the meantime I’m happy with the RNHP’s.
I ordered a pair of LCD i4s from Audeze’s B Stock sale. $1100 off and still a 3 year warranty on drivers was too good to pass up for something I’ve had on my watch list for some time
Oh man these look better in person. I’m not a huge fan of red but didn’t want the light gray. Plus the red is darker in person. Fits in with the RNHP. Good call Clear gang👌.
I picked up a Berkeley Alpha Reference 2 MQA so I can switch between r2r and sigma delta at my desk. Now to go through the signal chain hell of wiring it all up so I can switch to stuff easily lol
I’ve heard them before, and they are really great. Good planar bass, with insane sound stage and imaging. It’s just kind of a weird product because who really needs an open back iem? If you think of it more of a lightweight planar you can fit in your bag, it makes a little more sense, but I don’t see it ever making a significant dent in the market. It’s not as good as an LCD4, but it’s right up there with the X or 3 (which I seem to like more than most), at least in my opinion. I definitely recommend demoing them, just because it is so unique. The iSine20s are very good if you can find a deal on them
