Aeon’s are on sale, but elegia are so cheap.
I would pull the trigger on Elegia, and wait and see for Aeon 2.

I like the way the Clears sound so I’m leaning toward the Eligia.

This will be my first Focal pair.
I only personally felt a choice between Elegia/Aeon2/Eikon
and I already have a ZMF, and that price really impacted my decision

I know it doesn’t work this way… But when I take off the Clears or my hands are behind the cups they sound amazing. So I expect that Focal will get the Eliga right.

I don’t love the feel, but I do love the sound. Focal uses a clicking mechanism for the headband and it feels like my head should be between a click. That won’t stop me from getting the Eliga though.

I think Eliga is going to be my next pick-up

Just a heads up, Focal headphones are really picky when it comes to amps. I use the RNHP for the Clears, it really shines on them. Not so much with some of my other amps. I’m not sure if the Eligia will be the same way, but I expect they will be as well.

I own both the Elegia and Clear. In my experience, the Elegia is much less picky about amps than the Clear. My Elegia sounds equally great on my Asgard 3, RNHP and Lake People G111.

I bought my Elegias for full price last September. No regrets. They’re that good. And yes, they seem to play nice with pretty much every amp I’ve tried them on.

Cons: I should only use balanced out. Channel imbalance at low volume, and most of my HPs work best at low volume.

Pros: smooth surface and pleasing design, pleasant to touch. Sounds great. I listened to Foghat’s It Hurts Me Too live and got chills the whole time. And this was mp3. Listened to Thomas Tallis’s 40-voice motet Spem in alium. Not an easy piece to appreciate/enjoy/understand, but the LP really helped make it worthwhile.

Should be even better after the 100-hr burn-in.
