Hopefully there will be no power struggle between the two of them and they will play nicely. Seems they have put aside their differences for the time being and they are cooperating. I wasnā€™t about to pony up $30 for the Audioquest cable. But I also didnā€™t want to cheap out on a $5 cable (which probably would have worked just as well.) So I went for the middle ground and got the ifi cable for $15 basically because it looks nice with all my stuff.

ok it worked :sunglasses: - hard for me, as this is not my usual style.

Had a great offer, by a (very good reputation) known online store.
I already bought the ifi xDSD there last year and payed 1500 Euros for The HEDD. Msrp is at 1700. You usually can get it for 1649, if lucky.
1500 is 300 or 600 less compared to my other 2 candidates, the Arya and Auteur.
While I did love the Ananda and Aryaā€¦ both are not on the super build side. Even after the latest Arya revison, I have not the highest comfort level, spending this amount.
The Auteur is still on my list. Though my patience went this morning somehow over board.
I wanted the HEDDphone since munich high end last year and my plan was to audition the ZMFĀ“s lineup first, before I finally decide.
Had already booked a weekend in Heidelberg with my wife, where the single one ZMF distributor in germany is.
ā€¦ long story shortā€¦ it got cancelled, I lost 800 bucks for the hotel and since then had no chance to get my hands on some ZMF holyness.

I donā€™t mind the weight.
I am not a basehead, though a sucker for the AMT tech, the design, build, speed, quite wide stage and a buttload details.

So now Since I pulled the trigger, I am back in the Auteur threads more then ever. I hope to get my hands on some november b-stock.
In august, there should be a tube or hybrid in the house, if all works out like plannedā€¦ a SPL Phonitor Xe is in reach with the end of 2020 bonus.

Got these today and after a thorough cleaning and pad swap I can say they sound pretty sweet on the darkvoiceā€¦ canā€™t really compare it to the 650 until I have pads for both but it jives more with this amp imo

I have one on my main rig too. Easily the best mouse Iā€™ve ever used.

No! those are the wrong pads!!! Use the velour/suede! also what amp do you have?

Can I ask a stupid question? If those are the best pads, why did they sell the 9 other pairs?

Iā€™m (presumably) using the stock pads. Those are the pads youā€™re talking about right? I didnā€™t get the 10 extras. At the moment Iā€™m using the Asgard 3. My other amps are on my profile.

I guess the leather pads look better for the pictures? But it makes them sound muddy. I have no idea why they sell 10 pads with it. I got the 5 for 20$ and the only ones i use that sound the best are the velour/suede. not sure what they are. and they have a thicker foam on the inside. The inside oval shaped ones might be for bigger ears. But i liked the way the inside circle ones sounded.

I was thinking of getting some ZMF pads for them but i love the soundstage on them and i dont want that to be affected.

IF they are too bright on the Asgard try the tuba. someone said they sound good on tubes

These are the pads. I am finding the treble to be more than Iā€™d usually want. So I will try it on the Tuba later.

Past 2 months have been totally crazy, I started to buy a rental property and got talked into a bundle deal for 3. Funny thing is Iā€™m the one always pushing for the bundle deal, it was funny to have it thrown at me, and for real estate of all things :astonished:

Next came tubes, I have been trying to find some tubes for months but I am never sure of what to buy, they are getting harder and harder to find, and also prices are nuts on these things. I was VERY fortunate to meet a super great older gentleman w/ much experience and a small stash he was willing to part with :money_mouth_face:
