that’s an awesome haul
Yeah those are the good ones. though the foam inside looks thinner than mine
A lot of vintage goodness there!
I too have pushed my luck w/ some older equipment and thus far have been immensely pleased! The cost to entertainment ratio is very high and well worth the risk and occasional repair/update value. Please let us know how your system is coming along and if there is an audible difference with the upgrades, older as they may be. I am really getting into the vintage items and have been scouring the internet for information and knowledge before i step foot into my next Super high-end Vintage retail establishment to actually touch, drool over and likely impulse purchase (i keep M0N on speed dial/PM though )
Congratulations and very much looking forward to your next update. Keep it in the Zu thread, i enjoy that post.
Im curious as to what you think of yours
like 3 songs into them out of the btr5 balanced, very clean deep subbass impressively controlled but still boosted. these take full advantage of that multi driver setup very well giving me a very boosted bass response but allowing mids to come in. comfort build and the stock tips as a whole package is pretty great for this price makes me wonder why there was no hype for these .
Haven’t felt like I have had the chance to sit and give mine a good listen, though I also don’t have a balanced cable.
I switched over to unbalnced ti my wired q1 mk2 on my laptop and still sounds great.sibilance isnt a problem so far its bright detected some sibilance but it was just a song where only a dark headphone can tame. its seems to be just a really solid bass head IEM. its a refreshing not harman tuned IEM surprisingly wide soundstage as wellI might try to give them a go in siege
I have those for a while but black version. Got them for like 35 euro. For that price super nice maybe a bit darker sound. Love some edm on them and fit is just perfect for me.
i like my iem bluetooth from them, decided to try their wireless headphones.
Preparing for the arrival of my Eikon’s. I love ZMF products, but their stock cable is not my favourite type, but Forza makes dope cables. It feels and look like TOTL
I’m with you there and thanks for the suggestions. I’m really enjoying the Spin Fit tips and I love being able to hear as much detail as I am. It is great to know though if you feel like a more relaxed tuning, you always have that option.
Got my FiiO FH5’s yesterday and love everything about them(!) except for the nozzles. Not a deal breaker, but they really are short and wide. Good learning experience for sure.
Bass is full and very pronounced but I don’t hear that it bleeds into the mids at all, perfect for my taste. I think detail could be better but I don’t have a dac or amp (yet!) and have never used anything more expensive than these (yet!!) so who knows.
Just using the stock tips for now but I’m open to suggestions if you have any for these!
RIP my Sundaras and 4XXs, and thank you for whoever gave me the sale code from Adorama for the Elegias.
Will give impressions in a week. Initial thoughts are an interesting contrast to my Eikons.
Am liking so far
Breaking them in with mostly anime soundtracks lol.
Also, since I never mentioned it, those are Hart Audio cables I got in like two weeks ago. They’re fantastic, would recommend.
Edit : Just got an email from Geshelli that says the Erish is arriving tomorrow 0_0. So there will be another one of these posts very soon lol.
Going AB with the BLON BL03 with my black version both with the stock cable.
For the cables: The GuideRay comes with a nicer cable, though I do wish the black version had a black cable. On the other hand, i don’t like the feel of the Blons with the GuideRay or Starfield’s cable. Wierd, but there you have it.
Sound: The BL03 are most definately a brighter and sharper IEM, though that isn’t without sacrificing a lot of low end. If you don’t like sub bass, or want an IEM with little to no punch, they may be something to look into. On the other hand the GR-i68 (the black version) I would say to be much warmer and definately more punchy without being overly so. I like to use Nishio 2 by Lemaitre to test for highs, as from the get go, it hits some rather high and sharp notes. I found the 68s to… How do I say this… Have some shine in the highs, but ever so slightly vailed(I guess?), kinda like they want to sparkle if only with a slight dimmer.
I did my testing with my ifi ZEN DAC, power match off, true bass on (found I don’t like turning it off drool), and volume at noon.
It’s bright in the lower treble but gets darker as you go up it sacrifices resolution but it’s avoids most sibilance and basically avoiding the flaws most kz iems run into
I just got mine in the mail too.
Currently can only listen to vinyl, since I’m waiting on my new dac to arrive
I just ordered a purple custom headphone cable (Hart Audio) for my Focal Elegia’s that just arrived.
I…don’t…like…the included cable
Elac rocks! they had a b stock pair i was going to buy last nite for 379$, but the system bugged out and it would not let me buy . I got an email today from an elac rep saying we saved the pair for you in your cart, I was stoked again. Clicked on the link he sent and it said out of stock. bummer again! well i emailed the rep back that emailed me and told him about it. he dug a little, saw the system bugged out and they sold the b stock pair to someone else. He offered me a 30% off a new pair discount code for the hassle! Now i get a new pair for 20$ more
Elac customer service is apparently the best lol. Cant wait to hear these bad boys, they are suppose to be really good for the price, and elac has a 60 day no questions asked policy if you buy rom them direct. so if for some reason I am not happy, i can send them back. I also needed a soft dome in the collection of speakers badly lol so the timing of this is perfect!
