What did you buy today? (Part 1)

I personally have a thing for anything crafted out of wood. So if I ever won the lotto, I’d probably buy 1 of each, lol. However…

Μάλακα, δεν έχω χρήματα τώρα! Απλά αστειεύομαι φίλε LMAO.

It’s slang…google doesn’t know slang.

A question about Omnis.
Are they less detailed than conventional speakers or do they just do detail differently?

@PABastien, my experience with single speakers with no crossovers is limited, these in particular are tiny drivers, when placed closer together they go down to about 75-80hz and they are not upper frequency detail monsters. They are warm, smooth and clear with a very nice midrange. These are NON-fatiguing and NON-directional.

As you say they detail differently, interestingly enough they remind me very much of how the Meze Empyreans sounded playing off a real good tube amplifier. They image and have very wide soundstage on the desk, with great depth and a very “natural” sound. These in particular are “toys”, the designer/builder goes in depth about them on his site and forum. I am enjoying the level of detail and the best I can explain it is a warm, natural sound that comes at you from wherever you may be positioned in the room.

That Line Magnetic Mini 218IA looks pretty nice…and very compact. How do you like it?

cool. I was considering getting the decware ERRXs for my home theater set up. That or their coaxial DNA2 speakers. I’ve been trying to do research into this particular kind of speaker but outside of Ohm walshes and some 280K speaker I cant find much info.

It’s built like a tiny tank, with very solid heft to it. The amplifier has no hum, or other noise that I can discern. The headphone tap was set for 50ohm or higher HP’s. It mates VERY well with all my Klipsch speakers but does nothing for anything under 92 or so sensitivity. Once I got my hands on some NOS tubes I was MUCH happier w/ it. The bottom end is now present, with some NOS Ei EL84 tubes and NOS Tungsgram 12AX7’s.
I have used it with my Heresy, RP600 and WF34 speakers and enjoy Blues and Jazz out of the combination. I have heard other flea watts though and am pretty much set on a Decware next or something vintage and boutique. There are many many GREAT new boutique small amplifiers out there but they will start at triple the cost and that’s where Line Magnetic rules, they give you ALLOT of value for your money, you HAVE to find the synergy of your pieces though.
Dollar for dollar i would not go out of my way to trade it for anything else comparable that costs $1k new, I am very pleased with it, it is good but not great or anything that will knock your socks off. Good value for the money, clean and quiet.

@PABastien, One of the few shops I really want to visit is Decware, His products hit a good value to high-quality price point for me. There is much more expensive stuff to be had out there but I honestly DON’T want to pay the asking prices for it nor can I in all reality justify the cost. Thus Decware and much used and vintage gear is where i have set my sights.
Buy a pair of these for shits and grins they are well worth the asking price IMO. I did break down and add a subwoofer though, yes they have nice low end, but it’s nice low end for a 1 1/2" driver, lets not kid ourselves…
I don’t know how I feel about radials yet. This is a new experience for me. I need more time with these to get a better feel on my own feelings for them. Like I said, the sound is easy to listen to and enjoy and the concept is good, they do sound different though, real different from a normal speaker and that means things to different folks.
I may set these up on my TV when I get a chance to see what they sound/feel like.

That is awesome man! Tungsgram and EI tubes seem to synergize well with each other.

Speaking of Decware, I have been eyeing the CSP3 and the Taboo mk4 (wooden tube amp with VU meters is a look I am very fond of).

I still have them. If either of you wanna send me something of equal value I can try, I’d send you the Magni and or Vali to try in return. I baby my stuff and would treat yours even better. No worries if you’d rather not, but let me know if you’d like to give these a listen.

I may eventually take you up on your offer and will bookmark your comment so I don’t forget. But with me just buying my pre fazor LCD-2 and my Aeolus arriving on Monday, I will be busy enjoying the hell out of those for the next few weeks for sure.

Yeah. I really want the Triangle Thetas and a bryston 4b3 but they’re 6000 and 7200 dollars respectively CAD so that’s a big ticket item down the line. For the price of one of those I can get those Decware 8inch bookshelves with the enhanced midrange option and an amp from them

Yeah, I am of the exact same mindset. I already own what I think is “good stuff” I just need/want a tiny bit more…

Just a random observation… I dont think that Decware makes any product that isn’t aesthetically beautiful.

Looking at their older versions of their radial speakers you can see the long journey they took from woof to whoa
