Don’t they have usb to spdif? Seems like a pricey choice…

It actually was cheaper. USB to SPDIF was something like 60€ + shipping and this one was only 40 so…

Are they rev. 1’s or rev. 2’s?

Interesting that the pre-fazors are going for quite a bit these days. I bought my LCD-2 rev. 2 pre-fazors with vegan pads for $325 or so albeit in G-VG condition (no cables, no case). I had to reattach the pads since they soon became separated during initial use, there are nicks on the bamboo ring, and the rev. 2 headband was extremely uncomfortable. I spent an additional $225 (I think) for a headband upgrade and Audeze’s pelican case. Looking back, I should have looked into other pelican case options like the Monolith ones except one needs to pluck out the foam initially for the headphone and the latches for those may need the jaws of life to open, lol.

Over a year ago, I picked up a mint LCD-2 rev. 1 with the original wooden case for $450. I can live with the rev. 1 headband, so thankfully no upgrades needed for that one. Interesting that there seems to be an uptick in interest with the prefazors (LCD-2 and LCD-3).

These days, sales of used pre-fazors don’t last long.

Got these yesterday, but I just joined this forum last night, so I hope it counts?

Struggling w/ the pad size, but love the sound.

Based on the serial number they should be rev 2. I think rev 2 started getting manufactured in 2011? The LCD2 classic was supposed to satisfy the demand for those who liked the prefazor sound. But from what I’ve heard, the classics just aren’t as good. I though it was good deal fazor or not so I jumped on it.

I just checked Ebay for recent prefazor sales on Ebay and I couldn’t find any. So I wonder how much these could actually go for?

It was about $240 including shipping.

So much for 7-10 business days shipping… Got these in like 3 days. Definitely not complaining! See you guys in the Elegia thread with first impressions later tonight…

looks like black lacquer in the pictures. can you see the wood grain at all?

I always wonder what was the first LCD headphone. If the LCD 2 has been out for a while and the LCD 1 just came out, what was the original LCD?

got mine the next business day. Apparently I live a half hour from adoramas warehouse.

@Pr3ssAltF4, I think I beat you to it - it was you looking at one of these, right? I ordered on 5/16 and wanted to keep it a secret. Delivered yesterday. I only have a couple hours with it so far, but it’s the closest I have heard to god-tier listening. This DAC definitely lives up to the R-2R hype of “musical, natural, emotional, real.” Sorry I couldn’t join the Bifrost 2 club, but dang this thing sounds good and is built like a tank. My only regret is that it’s not made in the USA.

Photos for the endgame thread coming soon.
