I’m probably gonna look at higher end tube amps as well. To be fair, wasn’t really looking to buy the rme now but the opportunity came up. Next step for me is moving up above the 1k headphone range

As I have the exact same set-up, I can only say: DAMN GOOD CHOICE 
The 05 Plus and the V5 are exellent together and the Eikon is an ZMF HP (no more i needed to say).
Very curious about both. It has been my small dream to get ZMF but it is a bit harder in Europe. Fortunately german distributor seems to have some eikons in stock so after like two months of refreshing that bloody page I pull the trigger today.

There was only camphor option in stock so I was not picky and took that one. I might go for some limited wood in future if I like eikons and want to try different model.

Differences are easier to hear with IEMs, I guess.

These will be my first grados so I won’t be able to compare it to any others. Steve Gutenberg has a review of them and he talks them up a bit.
I got them because I haven’t baught a new headphone (other than some disappointing chi-fi IEMs) in about a year, they look really nice, and the sound Gutenburg described seems like somthing I would like. Also the memes, lol.
