Nice buy right there, I wish it is easy to get some AKG brand headphones here for it is really hard for me to look for one or maybe I am just not looking hard enough. I am curious about how it sounds for I heard some good things about it.
That’s alotta schiit
My first Harman target, I’m enjoying them, I wanted a studio closed back for loud tracking, I’m happy with them, now I’m curious about the 361
will be looking forward to read your impressions on them
I bought mine last week. $175 is pretty cheap for a decent tube hybrid.
Yeah, that’s what I thought too.
Reviewers seem to agree it’s a good way to experience partial tube sound.
Have you received it yet? How does it sound? What else have you been using?
I received it this past Tuesday. I’m listening to it right now on my replacement Arya v2’s (my Arya v1’s suffered an accident ), which came on Wednesday from Hifiman (thank you Hifiman support for being so understanding!).
After ~50hrs of burn-in, driving my HD800S or my Arya v2, the MCTH is a touch warmer than my THX AAA 789, mids seem to be a little bit more present and have more body to them. This helped improve the dryness of Arya’s mids. Bass loses a little bit of oomph that was present with the 789. The leading edge of the treble is more rounded and less sharp than the 789, so sibilance is less of an issue. Soundstage seems to be more coherent (if not a tiny bit larger but still too close to tell). All of the above is not a night and day difference. The differences are audible. It is just a matter whether the differences align with your taste.
New stands(stageek) little overhang but not much risk of tipping. Seem Pretty decent quality. Half the price of soundrise.
New tube for the darkvoice. Tung-sol made in USA
And mod parts for the dt880(600), to make them balanced so I can use the hart cables with them
Nice, I have fellow DT 880 user now though mine’s at 250Ohms, but still good buy.
Congrats! Those are VERY hard to get! At least in Canada.
