Congrats. You have to give your feedback once you’ve received it and had some listening time with it.
Heh, there also was an acrylic stand for the A30/D30 combo a few years ago.
Edit: oh, it’s just still the same, apparently. Never mind, still looks great anyway!
that’s a fine looking rack there
Welcome to the club! These all seem to be in fantastic condition given how old they are
How does it sound ? , looking to get the exact stack actually but have not tested them at the shop yet.
Daaaaaaamn…that looks sick
I do like the LCD2-CB’s, but they’re monstrously heavy. Even though the comfort strap and the big cups alleviates the issue, I still have issues with the headband and strap basically stretching or bending weirdly, making my head hit the upper metal rails. I’ve remedied this by basically punching two extra mounting holes in the strap and adjusted it so that I have some more space between the strap and the metal.
I’d say this is the biggest flaw with the Audeze headphones, that strap is badly designed and there’s inconsistency between the models (in my experience). LCD-2’s at the store I bought mine from had no issues, good distance and comfort. My headband was touching metal, same with my brother’s LCD2-CB’s. To top it off, his drivers failed and he has been stuck in repair hell since last October. They sent his pair on repair, came back and broke after 2 hours of use (he is very careful with his gear). Sent them back again, got them back from repair and this time they actually misplaced his pair with a pair of older and more scuffed pair, so now he’s basically been sitting around waiting endlessly due to covid.
My pair has luckily not had any failures, but I got scared one day when I heard the drivers basically crinkle and I got some minor noise in one of the cups. This magically went away after a few seconds so I’m not sure what caused it.
But yeah, headband is the criminal in my case and the fact that a new one costs 120€ is not a pleasant one. Sound wise I think they’re fantastic headphones, I just wish they were lighter on the head and didn’t have as many QC or service related issues. I also wish they had more selective spare parts available, why not sell a comfort strap on it’s own rather than the full system for 120 bucks? Just my 5 cents of whining.
Because then you can’t get scammed in the process lol
I’m fine with listening to their higher end stuff. It’s so absurdly outside of my price range that I couldn’t even come close to even consider a purchase of their Stellia, regardless of how pretty and good they sound. The Elegia are more or less a 1:1 in money from the LCD2-CB though, and more what I’m aiming for as a potential replacement.
So I’ll take some well needed R&R from work and go enjoy some gear for a day. If I can borrow a pair for a week or so that’d be stellar too, then I can enjoy it on my own setup. The guys that manage the shop are great to talk to and I get to borrow and review stuff every now and then. Last time I had the ifi xDSD on loan and that was real fun.
Paying 120 for the whole system feels like a bloody scam already. But then again, it’s not as bad as Klipsch HP-3 replacement parts, where basically the headband and cups are half the headphone in cost
A very nice and light cable which consists of 4 strands of 26AWG cryo 7N UPOCC copper + UPOCC silver in semi-Litz geometry and PE insulation…it does change the sound of the Andros a tad but it’s super comfy way better than OG cable with the memory wire removed
The Andromeda’s are just pure sex to the eyes. One day I want to listen to these, but I dread the fact that they’ll probably make me pop my savings account or something
Do it they’re worth it imho
I second that ^ sentiment…used can be found around 500…think of it as a 50% discount
ProForm Smart Pro 5000 treadmill.
Technically my wife purchased it, now just delivered. Looks like I have some assembling to do (or leave in front of the door for days/weeks)
Well… I need to get my spending under control, yes, BUT THIS IS FOR A PROJECT!!! And I can have them for use later… and my old flip flops died, and it’s nice to have something to throw on when I don’t feel like going through the full effort for socks and shoes…

Gorgeous! Love Matt’s work!
My mind is racing about what kind of project all that stuff could be for, and it came up with this:
