I personally like hart much much more. I find the build to be more precise and most importantly the cable to be light weight. Periapt weighs down my headphones in my experience.
I agree with @sa11297 Iâve had both and much prefer the Hart cables. Mainly because the Y-split on the Periapt is huge, and I got a lot of microphonics in the upper part of the cable between the Y-split and the headphones. The cable itself was nice and thick though and had a good feel to it but even then I prefer the lighter weight of the Hart cables. And the mini XLR interconnect system rocks.
ive seriously been considering selling the balanced periapt cable for my tr-x00 because of the weight and buying another balanced cable from another company. BIggest reason I have not is because im not sure if I am keeping the headphone (and the cable is not very common)
You better write a review for that! I hope @moderators put up an official page for that DAC/amp as well.
Did you get the amp/dac or dac only? Curious about this guy. Congrats on the big purchase.
Ah yes, the Thomann âSomeone has taken time to look at this productâ-badge
Yeah haha Just wanted to test the headphones if itâs good for me without feeling guilty of wasting a new package.
I bought the PCM with the amp it allows me to do NOS mode which is the reason to get the DAC, the amp looks to be more than decent although Iâm going to use it primarily as a DAC but figgured resale value would be better with it just in case I ever move up. The one thing it does that sealed the deal for me was that it allows you to feed an analog signal out to either RCA or XLR (one at a time) and you can have it be Line or Pre. Which is exactly what I was looking for since I wanted to have only one DAC and not bother with external volume pots or switching cables etc.
Will do!!!
I didnât buy it todayâŚbut my iPower AC adapter for the Zen DAC arrived.
Love to know how it works. My Zen DAC has a crap ton of noise from the PSU rail.
Didnât buy anything, but I cancelled my Argon order with Mod House, so I have $330 burning a hole in my pocket. What should I get? A Beyer A20 amp? A tube amp? Should I take the ZMF plunge? Something from Kennerton? (Yes, the $330 would be a small chunk toward some of these things.)
Honestly, I donât really think there are many HPs out there that can do anything much better than the phones in my current inventory. If there are, I probably have some kind of bias against them. Kind of a sad place to be, actually. I mean, itâs good to have everything I need, good variety, and be basically satisfied with it, even wowed from time to time. But still, I kind of have the urge to shopping.
Itâs like youâre in my head.
Neat. This going to be for a living room set up?
Iâm not sure that statement is compatible with this questionâŚ
Seriously, ZMF stuff is awesome and would synergize well with a lot of the musical preferences youâve listed in your profile. Maybe not chamber music (but I donât have my VCs yet, so donât hold me to that), but I love ZMF for stuff like jazz and blues.
