Just nervous about going over the $1000 mark towards diminishing returns. Not totally confident in my own ability to hear an obvious difference that makes the extra cost worth it.

In all seriousness, quality does keep scaling, but deciding at what point those improvements cease to be worth the expenditure is entirely subjective. If you’re happy with what you have now then the safer option (for your pocketbook) is to stop looking at new things. If you’re curious about what’s next up the ladder, definitely try to find opportunities to audition higher end gear before you buy. Further up the scale it’s all about preference, and it’s all a much more costly game to play, so if you’re gonna scale up, go after something that aligns with what you like.

Same almost, I took a big hit on shipping to the UK but they were still cheaper than DUNU stuff and the email exchanges I had were very pleasant so I was swung

It’s true, if you can have a dedicated space for listening I think that’s awesome. @Ohmboy is right. People have dedicated spaces for film and television viewing, and even spaces for guy stuff. Those used to be called Man Caves.

Oh, is that HEXv2? A very smooth sounding can that has somewhat of a slightly dark-neutral tuning, which is unlike the more neutral-bright tuning of the rest of its egg-/teardrop-shaped cousins. I keep a pair at my office, which I haven’t visited since mid-March while I WFH.
