Do I wanna know what I’m looking at? Beyond a powered pre-amp/ eq of some kind

It is finally here guys, finally a new pair of headphones since I have been buying a lot of IEM related stuff. Also not bad it came along with a headphone stand and an extra cable for it. I cannot wait to try these on and give these a listen and see how it compares to the DT 880 Pro 250 Ohm ver. that I got.

My order from Beautiful Audio arrived for a headband and new cups…

I added them to the SR325e for now as this is the Grado that needs the most help (others are SR80e and RS2e). The comfort is great, these no longer have a limited play time due to comfort issues.

The pads also have three choices of material (supplied) that can vary the density.

Edit: The original Grado L cushions are starting to annoy me, they keep sticking to the headstand and some leave a foam ring after a while.

very nice, was just talking about these with @A_COC0NUT on the 60’s/80’s thread, im thinking hybrid for those, would indeed like the comfort factor

They do increase the clamp a little bit (not by enough to be an issue) but the nice thing is that they can be applied to any Grado. If you’re listening to a set for a while then any bit of extra padding is welcome.

@Alan_Cronin Now THIS interests me. I loved the sound of the 225 but they hurt. These look comfy. How do they affect the sound signature?

very nice. where did you get the wood cups and how much did they cost? did htey enhance the sound?

Pretty sure wooden cups are from https://wabisabiheadphones.wordpress.com/ .

Maybe @Hazi59 can help us. I got the headphones from him.

The bass is reduced a bit and the soundstage is widened - the drivers are further away from your ears.

The bass is due to them being the leather ones, there are other options available that can add a bit more bass such as merino wool and also ones that can leave the sound as close to original - hybrids.
